Help Problem Connecting to PC

Yes, I have looked through other threads, but none were for this phone, and not the same problem... sigh.

ok, The info:
Rooted Motion 4g running stock F
Older (2009)Netbook running XP
Downloaded appropriate driver(?)
The phone connects to my desktop pc running XP just fine, same versions and all.

The problem:
It will charge fine, but when I hit the MEDIA button, It says "New hardware found: MTP media somdethingorother" repeatedly. When I click it to get rid of it, it reappears a few sec later. Nothing listed in the My Computer tab. I've re-booted, new usb cord, ect ect blah bah to no avail.

This happen to anyone else? Know of it happening? Anyone got any C4 for sale? Any help would be appreciated.

Try a different USB port if available, in case the driver got corrupted during install the last time. It happens to me once in a blue, I usually have to tap media on the phone a couple times before it gives.

But my phone isn't rooted so that's all I got for ya

Plug it into the computer when

USB connection type screen pops up click MTP

after that click on the Back button on the phone

this should trigger the phone file explorer.
