Help SG Note 10.1 question re: Dongal

Hi, i did put a post on but it seems to have disappeared?

I have just purcheased a 10.1 Wi Fi can a dongal be used to be able to take it out & use it in a place where there is no wifi?

If not is there any other way of converting it?

Thanks in advance.

There is no way to convert it to 3g. Use your phnoe as a hotspot or purchase a 3g device.

Oh ok thanks. My friend is able to use a dongal on her note book which is WiFi only when she goes away on her boat so we thought it might work the same with the Note.

A Notebook is a computer, a Galaxy Note 10.1 is a smart device, not the same thing.

I just got a dedicated hotspot from Verizon. It costs nothing after the rebate and only adds $10 to my phone plan.

A Mifi device is your solution, put a SIM card in it and it will convert 3G into WiFi signal.
Its for the best you have a data plan.

If I plan on traveling to Europe for 3 or 4 weeks, can I rent a MIFI device or get a prepaid MIFI device for my Note 10.1? If so, about how much would it cost? I realize Europe has tons of WIFI spots, but MIFI would offer complete freedom when traveling. Thanks.

I since I bought my GT-N8013, I've been kicking myself for not getting the GT-N8010 for an extra $50. The availability of the MIFI device doesn't make it so bad.

MiFi will have to be compatible with EU bands and you do not have to get a separate device, but a SIM card for a specific country in EU.

OK Thanks. I thought the MIFI IS a separate device. Can you please explain how I would setup cellular data connectivity in Europe without a separate device? I have a wifi-only tablet. Thx.

Separate meaning separate from MiFi you will be getting for use in the US.

MiFi is a separate device ,you can insert a SIM card in it

Thanks! So you guys are saying, since a MIFI has a SIM card, it doesn't matter if I use a MIFI device, or my GSM cellphone to tether? They both create WIFI. It's all in the SIM card anyway, right? I can just buy a prepaid data SIM(s) for each country traveled and use it in my cell and tether to my Note 10.1. I'm gonna carry a cell phone regardless.

I'm talking traveling Italy, Switzerland and Southern France for a month, max. What would you guys do? I certainly don't want to use my AT&T SIM overseas because of the roaming charges. At least not for data. Thx.

If you ar egoing to have a SIM in the phone for each of these countries, there is no reason to buy a MiFi
