Root Weird issue

My rooted (no themes or ROMs) Motion is doing something very strange as of late. It will reboot itself, and come back on showing 8% battery. I plug it in & within 20 mins or so it's almost fully recharged.

Any idea what could be causing this? I've seen it happen with 90% or more of a charge.
 
Sounds like your battery has gone bad.

How long have you had your phone?
Have you dropped it a lot?

You can try backing up all your apps, data, call logs, messages, and settings with titanium and then doing a factory reset to try and rule out battery and see if it's software related.

My money is on a bad battery though.

I will SUGGEST..because u are rooted try to get SD MAID pro n the sd maid unlocker.. n within the app is a setting to delete battery status.. wipe cache, n restart..
 
Battery wouldn't have been my first thought since the software reads the battery status, right?

Anyway, I went the SD Maid route & I also have a spare battery so I swapped them out. If it happens with the spare then I know it's likely not a battery issue.
