Root Media Storage question

Heloguy

I have a question about the Media storage. When I open up Titanium backup, it shows media storage space available as 1.75 gig of 4.0 gig total.
it makes sense due to the fact that i have my music stored on the internal sd card in order for the music app to recognize my files.
The problem is that every day my available space keeps getting reduced, without adding any more music.
I have my pictures stored on my external 16gig sd card, so it cant be that. Can anyone shed some light as to what is taking up the space, and how to get rid of it.

Don't know why the storage keeps getting smaller but I do know that you can put your music files on your sd card. I have all mine in a folder labeled music on my sd card. You can go into settings and set it up to where certain data can be stored on the phone and other data can be stored on the sd card.

Look under settings /storage bro.
You can change the settings in there so that you can make full use of the sd card.

As far as the data increase, there's a possibility that it's an app cache. Try going into CWN and wiping cache and the Dalvik cache. I have a feeling that's what's going on. Hope that helps. :D

Hmmm, man that strange. I wonder if anyone else is having that issue?

Also, you said you are using your internal for music files. Did you try placing the files in a folder labeled music and putting it on your sd card? I've got almost 3 gigs of music and it's all on my sd card. The phone reads it perfectly too. I just had to go into settings/storage and set it up properly is all.

If your phone will not allow you to do that then something is corrupt and you may need to do a fresh install. Hopefully you made a CWM backup of the stock ROM right after you rooted it.

Also, for those of you who use ADW EX, I've noticed that it doesn't act right with Sense. Even though I've got Sense frozen with Titanium, I still get some screen flicker once in awhile using ADW. Anyone else getting this??? It's nothing that I can't live with as it's not that bad and only happens on occasion. It's just annoying. lol :D

I deleted the music folder from the internal sd card because i still have the identical folder on my external sd, and no music shows up in the music app. i went into settings/storage and set all to sd card, but there is nothing there for media or music.

I did not make a clean nandroid backup.

I figured out that it is apps that i had installed on my sd card. problem solved....
now the new issue, getting my music from the external sd card to show up in music player.

There should be an option in the music player for it to search for media files. If not, try another app from Play. I use PlayerPro but there are plenty of apps for free.

I sorta figured it out. I used windows media player to sync music to my ext sd card, and it works fine. However, after a reboot, its gone again. I have to run the SDRescan app, and it shows up again.

Just curious.... what kernel are you running?
