Thinking of the Note 2 on T-Mobile

Had the Note 2 for a short while before going back to IOS, because to me
movies & TV are very important, and IOS (via Amazon Instant Video & iTunes)
can not be beat. That being said, the Note 2 is an awesome device, the s-pen is neat and has a lot of useful (in my opinion) features, plus the split screen multi tasking is awesome.
As for T-Mobile, I tried them, and while they are way cheaper than AT&T (my current carrier), the quality of the service leaves a lot to be desired: Phone and data coverage is woefully behind AT&T and Verizon. Don't believe the T-mobile coverage maps either: I went to some of their "strong coverage" areas, and still only managed to get 2G signal.
Yes, in some geographical areas they are awesome, but consider-when you leave that area, you want to be sure you can get a phone/data signal. For now, seriously consider paying more $$$ for AT&T or Verizon. It's worth it.

I don't know what the heck Ctdog is talking about but I have TMO here in NYC and not only is the coverage fantastic, now we have 4G LTE in some areas. I love my unlimited 4g data and for what I pay, I'm not even considering leaving. The LTE coverage will only get better and TMO has stepped up it's game in a big way. Had ATT and not only are they way more expensive than TMO but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

to other places: go to Westchester county, or Fairfield county CT, places
not at all far from NYC, and you'll see how quickly Tmobile service degrades.
Tmobile does have fantastic prices, and if a user can tolerate spotty service, then go for it.

I had Tmo for about three months, but found the data speeds as well as the coverage to be way spottier than AT&T in Kansas. When I traveled to Colorado or Nebraska to see family, I would hardly have any service and miss out on a lot of calls-texts.
I've had Tmobile for quite a while. While the price and coverage statements are true, I've never had a problem with their service. Whenever I've had a problem, they have fixed it or figured out what went wrong pretty quickly. I've even had them tell me they didn't know what was wrong but they would find out and would call me back when they did. Asked me when would be convenient to call back, told them and they did so promptly. Yeah, you run into some idiots once in a while, but when I ask, they give me somebody else to deal with and whatever it is that's wrong, it gets solved. Hey they are not perfect, but having had Verizon and cutting AT&T loose a while ago for customer service issues, I can appreciate people that work to get it right and don't treat you like you are a moron.

My Note 2 is on the T-Mobile $30 a month pre-paid plan and it's great. I'm tempted to move my Nexus 4 to this plan as well and save buttloads of money.
As to the Note 2, bought one about a month ago and have been trying to wear the buttons off of it ever since. The size and stylus take some getting used to. Surprisingly, not that long. The more I use it, the more uses I find for it. Haven't used a computer in the same amount of time. Almost everything can be done from the phone. Yeah, I know it sounds like I'm preaching. But this is the first phone I've ever had that is fun and useful.

T-Mobile is great if you're in cities and their VERY close outskirts. As soon as you move into the rural areas, don't hold your breath. The easiest solution for traveling is to make sure you have an sim unlocked phone and before you leave, buy a pay as you go at&t sim and only use during your trip if needed. You'll have AT&T's coverage in case you need it, but will still pay T-Mobile prices for your every day service.

Thank you all for the reviews of T-Mobile! Now, what about the actual phone itself? How have you liked it? Pros? Cons? I currently have an S3 so I'm used to Samsung and Android in general. I'm drawn to that big screen! Does it fit comfortably in pockets? Thanks again!!!

Fits great in my pocket but then again, I don't wear skinny jeans nor carry a purse. I say purse because I've heard people 'complain' that it's too big to fit in a purse......really?
Coming from the s3, you'll male a quick transition and you'll love the not so huge but compared to an ipad screen. Now, if you broke free of the Apple prison and avoided it's propaganda machine on the way out like it did, it will be like discovering the smart phone all over again. N2 is simply a marvel of the current smart phone scene, look forward to many other innovations from Samsung unlike Apples "innovations" like copying the pull down screen yet since they have it come from the bottom up, they pioneered the concept.

Exactly best switch I ever made never had a loss of service. I love tmobile compared to virgin mobile. Plus in you get on tmobiles family plan huge savings
