Anyone getting a CMAS text alert every hour?

"This is a test of the CMAS text alert system. This is only a test." I've been getting this every hour on the hour today.

I've received 3 as well, at the top of the hour each hour this afternoon. Anyone else in an area where severe weather is being forecast? That's when I seem to get multiple test messages.

I'm on the north side of Chicago, but don't see any weather alerts. Where are you guys at?

Just northwest of Minneapolis. I don't have any weather alerts right now, but there is a chance of severe weather late tonight.

Last Summer a CMAS alert awoke me at 2 am with a tornado warning; the tornado passed a few miles south of my house. Since then I've been glad to have the alerts at full volume, especially at night!

You can turn it off. Open your text window, hit the Menu button, then Settings, and scroll all the way to the bottom. Turn off the ones you don't want, like CMAS - Test Alert.

Yes they are the new alerts they have in place I left my Optimus Elite for a couple ZTEs the warp sequent and avid 4g and both get these don't sweat it

They recently upgraded the alert system as a whole, and I think it's awesome. However, I haven't been receiving multiple test messages recently, but it will happen from time to time that I receive an excessive amount one day every few months for no reason whatsoever. I'm just south of Minneapolis myself, and yes due to the recent severe weather we've been getting alerts.

It should be noted that, at least for me, turning it "off" never actually did just that. Whether that setting is on or off, on stock or any other ROM, for three OEs now, I still receive the test messages. So, it's debatable whether or not it can actually be turned off (at least for me).

Everything okay where you are? I know people in your general area who have had flooding, wind damage and power outages in the last few days. Hope you're managing to stay dry!

Thanks! Oddly enough while there were many entire streets, highways, etc. without power (including some gas stations), right around where I live, we were fine. :)
