Question about 2.1 Should I or shouldnt I?

Well I am always seeing the talk over this forum about so many people rooting their phone and getting the leaked 2.1 update, but I have to ask what is so great about 2.1? If someone can tell me the cool new features and all the details like that it might persuade me to actually root my phone. Instead people just say it rocks lol  So please if you can tell me what the cool new things are that would be great.

Thanks

Only reason I've been anticipating the 2.1 update is for the Navigation feature. Now that my Navigon started back working, I'm not impatiently waiting anymore though.

Other than that, I just heard it's faster.. But I haven't played with one with 2.1 on it, so that's just me saying that.

-Biggest thing is the Turn by Turn navigation.
-There is some performance improvement, but this can be reduced by the apps you have running.
-Youtube works
-Camera is improved
-The memory limitation and boot issue is gone in 2.1 (only applicable to those who use a lot of apps).

for full details check out the wiki:
Android (operating system) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Everything else is very minor for everyone else.

I would wait for the official release though if I were you. i'm on v2 of the 2.1 leak.

There is also the animated weather and "helicopter" home view.

2.1 also brings native multi-touch in other apps. In 1.5 multi-touch is only supported in the browser.

Multi-touch also works in the Albums app in 1.5. Well, pinch and spread to zoom.

And, of course, it also works in some third party apps (Dolphin, xScope browser.)
