Help Western Digital 2TB external Hard disk not supporting Samsung galaxy note 10.1

What format are you using? Since it's 2TB, I am assuming it is either exFAT or NTFS. If it's in NTFS, Android does not have official support for it. You will need to root if you want to use NTFS. exFAT does work with the latest firmware (some older official firmware versions had no support).
Are you using external power to power the external drive? The drive will not work on its own. The Note 10.1 does not have adequate power to supply and power the external HDD on its own.
Also require a USB OTG adapter. The data sync/charge cable will not work and a simple USB adapter/converter will also not work.
More details please about what you have and tried. This topic has been discussed many times before. Simply posting it doesn't work or not supported doesn't help us help you.

No without external power it cannot be used. I also have a WD 1TB hard disk but as it doesn't have an external power supply option it cannot be used.

NTFS is not supported by Android unless you are rooted. If you are not rooted, you will need to reformat the drive to exFAT for it to work with the Note 10.1. If you are using Windows, exFAT is developed by Microsoft, so it can be used with Android and Windows.

It can be used with an external battery pack/ charger and a USB-splitter cable.
NTFS is supported if you are rooted.
