Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I may give up unlimited come December. I have a couple options available to me. Keep my unlimited and pay full retail for a phone. Give up my plan and go under my parent's plan which would be cheaper by almost 1/2. I have the offer of going on a good friend's AT&T plan as well. So many choices.

New car battery - $116
Pads to keep corrosion away - $2
Lube to keep the terminals from getting corroded - $2
Can of Fix-a-Flat - $9
Having a dad that will come rescue you when your car won't start and then not scold you because its apparent you haven't taken care of said car - PRICELESS!

$116 for a new battery?!? Maybe I don't mind it so much here in doodah after all. :-D

Morning folks! :)
T minus 3 more days of work until vacation. :D
We settled on going to Ink for our special night out in LA (where we're headed). It's Michael Voltaggio's restaurant, winner of Top Chef (forget what season). We've been to his brother's (and fellow contestant) restaurant here in DC. Can't wait, the menu looks ridiculous.

Had a guy in the auto battery manufacturing business tell me a few years ago that there are only 2-3 manufactrers of car batteries and they are essentially all the same. They just have a different sticker on them and maybe a little different warranty backing them. So whether you pay $100 or $200, you're most likely getting the same battery (as long as it's the same size). If something is wrong with it that a warranty would take care of, it'll fail within a year anyway. Which is exactly what happened with my truck battery last week. Failed in 8 months and was covered by the 1 year warranty in full.

Most I've ever paid for a battery was $175 and it was for our tractor a few weeks ago. Twice the size of my F150 battery.

Good morning folks!

Must be a NJ tax thing, BB. A Duralast Gold battery at AutoZone here w/8 year warranty is about $125 with the old one turned in. And it's made by the same company, to the same standards, as a DieHard. Oh BTW keep your oil changed too! :p

I will cling to unlimited until they throw me off of it. I just blow through too much data, especially streaming Google Play all day.

And Copacetic, I am on the latest Sourceress edition of JBS (5.5) and I use the stock kernel. I just haven't bothered flashing Lean to it yet :)

Have a great hump day - I'll be picking some whiteberries (albino blackberries, really) today!
:)

I missed it! And I'm sorry!

CONGRATULATIONS Bread! You turned green!

WELL DONE! :D

And yet ANOTHER GNWH Alumnus moves into staff... pretty soon we may as well move this whole thread to the staff forums :p

Yeah, the cost was with bringing in my old battery and the guy told me I have 3 years to beat the crap out of it for the warranty. I laughed and said if my car lasts 3 years I'll be shocked. And we won't talk about the oil changed. I do fall into the stereotypical female and car maintenance category.

Thanks Chief, I was on 5.4 and the stock kernel and was having a lot of lag and freezes. We had another soaker of a rain day here (I am truly sick of the rain ) so I clean flashed again and loaded only from the play store and flashed fancy kernel. Am just now all set up, so we shall see if this does better. Any significant changes in the Sorceress? Do I need to flash the security update?
