s4 photo size setting question

In the camera settings under photo size you can choose several options for the size of the picture from from w2.4m to 13m. does that mean on the lowest setting the picture is take in 2.4mega pixels? and the highest would be 13mega pixels?

Keep in mind that 13mega pics come out 4x3 instead of 16x9.
