Root Changing the metro pcs on status drop bar n lock screen

I have modded the system ui apk is it (just changed a few png) located in an xml file. If so which one

I believe its a value on an xml file but I'm not sure where its located in there as I've never changed it that way. I have done it on uot kitchen tho, but that was just a matter of putting new value in radio box on their site

I've never edited an xml file before so I really don't know what to look for or what I would be doing. I do some research later, thanx

You would be looking for the value that you want to change ie MetroPCS

Thanks for the file name, already have notepad++, thanks again tho. edit: I found the file (framework apk) open the xml file don't see anything saying metro pcs, im using an app called axel to open the xml file

Now thachanged the mpcs to my xboxlive gamer tag (which is such a simple joy) what else is possible that we can do with an xml editor?

Worked!! :)

There are two ways of doing it.

One way of doing it:
Download eri.xml
Open it up in Notepad++
Where it says "Name" put what ever you want with the quotation marks (Example: "Totg")
Save it
Move the file over to your phone in the /data folder
Restart

Another way of doing it:
Download the Xposed Framework
Follow the steps in the thread to install it
Install the MoDaCo Toolkit module
In the MoDaCo Toolkit go in to the System UI menu
Check the custom operator name
Then set custom operator name
Enable the MoDaCo Toolkit in the modules tab of the Xposed Installer
Restart

Okay, I tried the MoDoCo mod and it just leaves it blank.
I edited the eri.xml and put it in /data folder and nothing happens.

Am I putting it in the right folder? I'm placing it in the data folder on my phone not the sdcard.
This seems so easy but I just can't get it. Can someone elaborate please?

This is the folder I am placing it in:

In the downloaded xml file that you changed "name", did you change all 3 and leave the quotation marks in there? Looks like you got the destination right. I didn't use the modaco mod, just downloaded the xml file and changed all three places in it where it says "name" to "my xbox live gametag"

Ur putting.it in the right folder and when you edit the xml file erase were it says "metropcs" and replace it with what you want !

I did change all three and left the " " in place. Let me double check

Thanks, but I did that

After going and testing the MoDoCo Toolkit it only changes the lock screen. To get both of them to work you need to edit the eri.xml. You have to edit it with Notepad++ or a similar text editor since Notepad, as far as I know, encodes the text file differently. You are placing it in the right directory but you have to choose either the MoDoCo mod or the eri.xml text not both. The Xposed Framework over rules defaults so the eri.xml won't work if the MoDoCo enable customer operator name is checked.

I figured that, so, I uninstalled the MoDoCo mod because I have no other use for it. I mostly use tweekbox mod.
I also double checked the eri.xml and I replaced all 3 spots where it says "name" and replaced them with "SidEShoW".

I think I'm going to select "clean up (complete removal of the framework)" option in xposed. See if that has any effect.

Thanks for your continuing help guys, this is such a simple thing to do(well within my abilities as an Android tinkerer) and I know it's something stupid and soon I'll have one of those "duh" moments and it'll work.
