who will be getting the moto X

Yeah, I'm interested in G2 as LG seems to have stepped up a lot. My last LG phone was Vortex on verizon. It was small mid range phone back then nobody cared, but it was pretty solid as phone and good battery life. LG's weakness has been software UI and update. But since they got hands on Nexus, it seems to have improved as well.

I think Moto X will have better software overall, but G2 has the latest monster spec good for couple of years of future proof. Can't wait to see both in hand.

Ditto! I've been 'settling' for the Moto X ever since I decided that I wouldn't 'settle' for the Droid MAXX.

LG G2 looks beautiful

And for anyone like me that had the original Atrix .... we been waiting for another phone with a fingerprint scanner. There is supposedly one on board with the G2 I will be checking it out for sure.

Well, I WAS getting a Moto X until I heard that the G2 is coming to Verizon. Kind of throws a wrench in my decision-making. But until I see the reveal on August 7th and learn the details of it, Moto X is still on the short list.

Hence my justifying talking about both devices :D

For those of us with Unlimited Data, a $300 price tag on the Moto X unsubsidized is like Christmas in August!

I just can't decide! Dammit it needs to be August 8th already :/ It doesn't help that I lost my spare battery/battery holder for my Galaxy Nexus. It's like carrying around a ticking time bomb. You just never know when the battery is gonna crap out on you.

How could it possibly be a removable battery?

I just saw the 2 halves separated somewhere and thought the battery would be accessible.

I really would like the bigger battery in a phone, unless battery in the X is like my current MAXX ( not HD)

Me too, but when there are products like this out there, do we really need a second battery? I just did a very quick search. I'm sure there are items similar that are even more convenient

True, but that become another piece of equipment to carry or have available.. but it is portable. I know that there are extended battery type things integrated in a case for the phone which would be nice in some instances as well.

Now I just need to find a reliable Wireless HDMI Share port to use with my App Radio and then I could upgrade. it is that WiFi Hot spot my phone to an older phone in the car, but then it defeats the purpose of the the set-up I have honestly..

I love the look of the g2 but I can honestly say it is starting to really come down to build quality that is always my last thing to look at and after have the s2 then the note2 I'm sick if a plastic cheaper feeling I've always liked the way the Razer and maxx looked and felt but hey not on sprint so I'm still leaning towards the moto x I love my one but since my wife needs a phone she's gana get my one and I get a new phone but no I will not by the same phone so thats my case lol

hmm wow, LG G2, huh? first I've heard of it (mainly bc I'm biased towards Motorola).
I'm currently and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Moto X, but if the G2 is getting good media attention and some general public "nods", then maybe I should consider a comparison.

especially the possibility of improved SW/OS support from LG (based on speculations), maybe I should give it a wait. That is, unless the G2 goes with the mainstream and sets the unsubsidized price at $600 like the SG4 and HTC One.

Moto X's speculated "lower" than mainstream price is one of the other benefits I see.

If the rumored pricing is true, then I'll be getting this phone on day one. My Galaxy S III isn't even a year old and it just went back to Samsung for "repair" for the second time and I'm displeased about it to say the least.

Can't wait for the Moto X event on Thursday!

ok - forget what I said.
I've decided I'm 85% sure MotoX will be my next phone. The remaining 15% deterrence would be based on revealing price, poor hardware or software outlook, or some circumstantial situation barring me from spending money :)
... and maybe if the LG G2 announces some sort of "forever" support, and a comparable unsub'd selling price

I figure I'll just wait for LG's version of the Nexus. If LG is doing their job well with G2 support, then LG Nexus 5 should be just as good or well supported. Mind you measure of "good" is relative. I personally measure it in regards to support and reliability. I don't need the latest/greatest or the most powerful specs. I just need it to work the way it was advertised and if not, have a support tech team to help out.

I was leaning towards waiting to see the Nexus 5 unveiling and then choosing either the new Nexus or the Moto X. I despise contracts and like buying my own equipment so a sub $350 pricetag on either device would be awesome. But now my current phone is starting to turn off randomly after it got wet 2 months ago. At first It was only a couple of times during a week but now its 2 or 3 times a day and it even shuts off when I connect the charger. My phone is extremely important for my job so now I no longer have the luxury to wait and see how the Nexus is going to be. I'm hoping the Moto X will be available sometime in August. If it is and if the price is right I'll snap one up the first day.

Looks like I will be picking up a Moto X on Launch Day too. And if October's Nexus 5 - rumored to be compatible with Verizon's LTE and HSPA+ frequency range - actually comes out on Verizon, I'll buy the Nexus and sell the X.

Unless the X just wows me to no end... then I'll keep it until the Nexus 6 comes out :D

That Motorola Connect thing is admittedly handy...

Not joining you fellas on this one.
It's too high end price for mid range device for my tastes.
The featureset is nice, and it is different but going from an HTC One to a Moto X seems like a step backwards.

Gotta see what Google tosses out in the fall.
I really am disappointed with it.. this would have been the one thing that got Motorola back in my good graces after all the locked bootloader nonsense. :(
