Give me an idea of a contest to give away 5 Google Voice invites

I have 5 of them and want to be fair. I don't want to say first come first serve, because of time zone differences and the times that people can be on the computer.

I would like to get some ideas on how I can give them away in a fair manner.

For the non-believers please see images below. You can see that the last 4 digits differ on each one.:p

Ok, I don't want to sell them, that's bad Karma.

And I won't give two of them away since these things are so hard to get.

I would like some ideas, not "I'll take one".

Also, this isn't an invitation to bombarde me with PM's.
 
The fact that you are not trying to seel them says a lot. I don't know why someone woud try to see something they got for free. I can't seem to think of an idea for a contest...at least not one that I would have a chance at winning and I would love to stack the deck in my favor. :)
 
You could quiz people. You know, some trivia or something. An IRC trivia bot isn't too hard to set up. =P

You could ask Anonimac to stop the thread at 100 posts and then randomly pick 5 numbers 1-100 (excluding posts that you have made) and give those people a number.

You could give me one for actually following the instructions of the thread and attempting to help you find a way in which to give them away. =D

Thanks for that. That made me laugh. I want to get rid of them, because I know i won't use them all, but would also like to keep one just in case.

I like your idea of using some sort of numbering system and have it randomly select. I don't know how to do it, but I am sure I could figure it out.

I think what I will do is get ideas here and then make another thread for the actual contest itself.

That's a good question. And you're right, it would be better than first come first serve due to everyone's varying schedules.

As far as ideas go, that's a different story. I can't think of any GREAT ideas. Maybe just something simple like a short paragraph about "Why do you want to use Google Voice" or maybe even simpler like who has the 5 coolest avatars? (I'd vote for me on that last one, by the way. :D)
 
1. have people write a song about the Incredible and/or GV
2. have people write a poem about the Incredible and/or GV
3. have people submit an MS Paint drawing that has something to do with the Incredible and/or GV
 
Go through the Incredible users manual that was leaked here, and put together some relevant (but reasonably obscure) questions that are specific to the functionality of the device that we all seem to care so much about. The first 20 people who PM you correct answers to all of the questions get their names put in the hat, and five of them walk away with GV invites.

I like that one, can you point me in the right direction to find it?
 
Perhaps we can get everyone with spare invites to throw them in to something site wide? I've got two I'd donate.

NOTE: IF YOU SEND ME A PRIVATE MESSAGE ASKING FOR AN INVITE, YOU WILL NOT GET IT!
 
I have a 2 or 3 to give away too..but I agree..no PMs. Come up with some way so I dont get pounded by requests for offering them up.
 
I have to admit that I like Dex's idea. It seems like the most fair, and doesn't rely on the ability to search a manual or answer random questions.

It's like the lotto, and I found a great website: random.org, to pick the numbers.

I've been drinking tonight, so i don't know if I can hold out the contest much longer. It might just be that I start a post where people choose numbers and then use the above website to pick random numbers.
 
i am not sure what you can do for a contest but I am down for whatever... maybe a wallpaper contest? I made the peeing droid on apple bootup for the droid back in the day lol
