How do I remove my Google account from my without doing a factory reset?

When I go into remove it, it says I have to do a factory reset. I don't to do a factory reset because I'm going to give the phone to my wife and I don't want the apps I have installed on it to be wiped out.

I am rooted.

Is there any other way to get my Google account off the phone?

Factory reset is the only way to move the originating/activation google account secondary accounts can be removed in app...so do a TB and reset. I'm not sure if a data only restore from recovery restores google accounts not, somebody else may know that.

Probably formatting data on all google apps. Then reboot. Or format account and sync setting in system>app>all

Yup, just back up with titanium backup and you'll be fine.

If I add my wife's google acct (presuming you can have more than one on a phone), would it then let me delete mine?

Also, I thought I read somewhere if you do a factory reset on a rooted phone it screws something up, but I don't remember what. Is that true?

Do the wipe/reset from recovery not settings, no the primary account can't be deleted only those added later.

Ok, I find a site that tells how to do it - if you are rooted. I did it and it works.
