Make your N7 II -look & act like Ubuntu Touch - will u ??

I'd be willing to pay extra money to get any ubutnu-like garbage off my tablet if I had to :-).

How so?

OP, the only thing that might cause a little lag is Unity (the article says it can be a little laggy), but other than that, I can't see any reason why any of that stuff would slow your device down any great extent.

Wasn't there a set of official factory images for the original Nexus 7 that actually loaded Ubuntu Touch, not just made it look like it?

It's a matter of opinion, but I intensely dislike Unity even with the power of a desktop PC let alone a phone/tablet - it makes my PC feel like something from the 90's as far as (lack of) responsiveness is concerned and makes Gnome look like a lightweight. I'm back on Xfce4, have been for some time :-)

I want a desktop/launcher to help me, not get in my way and hog vast amounts of machine resources while simultaneously annoying me. Unity (or a feel-alike) on my Nexus 7? Not a chance.
