When I bought my S3 last year I gave my husband my Esteem. Lately he has been having issues with it....I plan on getting the S4 hopefully in the next few months and will be giving him my S3. Until then my son has a ATT iPhone 3 but is switching to Tmobile and will be getting the Note. I am considering getting the iPhone unlocked and giving it to my husband to use until he gets my S3. Question is should he use the iPhone or should he just stay with the Esteem for now? Would there be any differences in performance? We are both on Metro's $55 plan.

The Iphone would not be able to be put on the $55 plan, you would have to switch it up to the new plan.
The S4 would also require the new plan so if your in for the new plan anyway ya he could go with the iphone.

Actually I just noticed you say its an Iphone 3, that will not use the t mobile frequencies so data would be edge unless your in a refarmed area, and I am unsure if it would even be LTE capable. I would not think that would work that well on further thinking.

Its pointless you're better off selling your S3, buying yourself the S4, and him getting an F3. That way you can migrate him over to the tmobile towers now and he can take advantage of the better speeds.
And he gets the F3 which is only $99 and a 4 inch screen with better resolution than the iphone3.

Because my husband is technology illiterate LOL! I bought him a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and he still hasn't been able to master it <0.0> ...anyway can't afford 2 new phones right now so I guess he'll just have to keep using the Esteem for now....as for the iPhone, it's my son's and he doesn't want to sell it..why I don't know!

Hey there Mike yup I've been around just haven't posted.I'm debating whether to get the S4 or hold off in case something better comes out. Also holding out for rebates LOL!

Honestly, he would be fine either way, because you could put both phones on the $40 plan, so if you have to unlock the iphone,it would be more money, but realistically, he doesn't need unlimited data if that's all he's doing, that's just my two cents.

lol I love the note 2, one of my personal favorites of all time, I'd rather have it then my s4 to be honest, but if I don't have the best carrier branded device, I cant sell it to my customers
