Application Manager?

I'm not rooted.

Anyone know of a way on a non-rooted phone to disable or uninstall the annoying Application Manager app? I'm not seeing it, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

thanks

There is a Disable button for it in the App settings menu, at least on my version of the phone (MetroPCS). I'm rooted but that doesn't affect what shows up in that menu.
If you don't have it on yours, then you're SOL without rooting since it's a system app.
Not sure why you want to disable or remove it, you can just not use it and ignore it.

On the Virgin mobile model application manager only offers a selection of notification times. no way to disable it without rooted. But i just set mine to every 4 weeks. I'm am rooted but keeping it for now not sure if something good might pop up in there one day.

Sounds like a good idea to keep just in case some new app pops up like you said.

Mulder,

On VM phones, it is NOT listed in the System Settings / Applications menu. So you cannot disable it like some of the system apps. That's why I couldn't find it and thought maybe it was somewhere else that I had forgotten.

thanks

Go to settings / apps / swipe over to 'all' / click on application manager / select disable.

You can check other apps you don't use and disable them too, it will stop them from running. If it creates any unwanted results just enable the app again. Doing this can free up ram and make the phone a little speedier.

Thanks Sneaky_1! I not crazy after all. I knew I disabled some apps, but couldn't remember how. "All" gets to it. Got it done! thanks!

I kept reminding of the free virgin mobile pre-loaded apps (that I uninstalled) were available. So it is their way of providing their app downloads (and reminders).

VM phone, instead of disable, you can also un-check show notifications?.... Not sure if that keeps it from showing up on boot or just updates for the app?
I don't restart my phone that often so it's not an issue for me when it shows up on boot.
