Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Jhawk, looks like the Note 3 in the US should be using a Snapdragon 800. Do you think it'll help with AOSP ROM development?
Should help immensely, assuming you can get through the locked bootloader. If you need any proof of how bad the exynos processor hinders aosp development, just remember that the cm team just released its first release candidate rom for the international gs3 this past week, more than a year after the device's release.

Using WugFresh and Flash Stock + Unroot doesn't seem to be completing. Might to do it from phone.

Aside from that, because of working 2nd shift I'm missing out on Dave Chappelle and Flight of the Conchords - Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival.

What the heck has JBSourcery done? WugFresh won't take it back to stock. Did a factory restore from phone and JB is STILL there!

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Great write up, geek.

I'm most likely going to go for the Note 3. The X's user experience sounds awesome, but given that I watch something on the phone every day during my hour lunch break, I need a screen that will blow my socks off. The n3's 5.7" 1080p screen is mouthwatering.

True, I could just watch on my iPad, but it's too cumbersome for that.

The LG G2 is very tempting, except I keep hearing how terrible the UI is.

As far as camera is concerned, that's a big requirement for me as well. I wasn't too happy with the GNex camera, and while I don't need professional quality stills, I do use the camera app a lot when we go out with friends, etc.

The iPhone 5, which I'm on now, has a high quality shooter, and I would need something on par with that.

I'm just sick of the 4" display!

EDIT: Geek, I thought I was done with ROMming too when I bought this Nexus. Didn't turn out that way. So I never say never... just keeping options open.

Think I got it now? I was trying to flash Stock 4.2.2 and it wouldn't take. So I tried 4.0.2 and it seems to have taken.

Relief.

Times like this make you nervous/scared when it comes to all things root :)

I've missed the old boot screen.

Dang it!!!!

I just realized that the Note 3 will have nasty capacitive buttons and this long hot-dog looking home button.

I hate buttons.

Please, G2, be rootable!

Oh, and Chief, I hear that the Moto X Developer's Edition will be available to Verizon, but do you know whether it will be available at a subsidized price, or will it be strictly full retail?

Han, while I hate the capacitive home button on my S3, I've gotten used to it; plus it can be used to unlock the device!
Also, menu and back buttons are customizable for long press to make it 6 buttons in theory. :)

Why are you taking it back to stock?

Because my phone has been agonizing to use for about 2 months. I was ready to throw it at walls a few times. I'm updated to 4.2.2 now. I'm unlocked and I'll have to wait to root until I get back home from work. I don't think I'll be flashing any ROMs.

Did you read the article on the Phandroid home page about Pressy? That's the coolest little thing I've seen since Capta! But more useful!

EDIT: Dang, I didn't mean to silence the thread... it's only Labor Day Friday. Where would everyone else possibly be besides HERE? :p

Lol, that makes me think of this video. An Apple parody.

I haven't payed attention to any NFL preseason player/team news except for a little of the Steelers and I have a fantasy draft in the morning. Flying blind this year.

Yes sir. Fantasy Football.

Great news: It’s been some time since we heard about that potential The Boondock Saints sequel, but don’t think that means director Troy Duffy has forgotten all about it.

I’m still working on the third film too. I’m trying to find my way through that plot. [...] I’m about halfway done [with] the script. So ya, that’s definitely on the front. We’re doing a third installment.
