Accessories HTC Droid Incredible Case

you have to order it through a CSR at #611, option 4, press 0 and then give them the VZW6300CWRD6

Actually I think the code for gradient case is VZW6300COVRDG. I just got off the phone with them and told her about the cas15 code. She said it was worth 25% off. So the case was $19.87 for me.

I want to order this as well BUT, does that damn clip come off like the one for the moto droid does? Anyone know?

I just got mine today (shipped via FedEx with return label). You have 30 days to return/exhange. It does not say if you can return it to a corporate store.

The case is really nice. It is a snap on case. The body glove material provides a nice grip. Someone that owned one for there previous phone said that the grip material started to peel off, so it will take awhile to see if there are quality issues. One thing to note is that this is not like the one on Body Glove's website (say for the Droid Eris or Nexus One) as I do not have the kickstand. It has the belt-on clip with the swivel. You can easily pop the clip off the case and replace it with a "dummy plug" made of body glove material so it is now a case only. I do not know how I feel about swivel clips. The ones I used for the Treo never seemed to last long.

Now I just need the damn phone!

I'll be going with the Innocase when they produce it. I need to have mine in a holster and I also am hoping they make a desktop charger that you won't need to take the cover off to use much like they did for the droid.

I will also we waiting for the Steinhall screen protectors.

Thats funny. That looks like theincredible with speaker holes for the Droid. I am sure the actual case comes with the correct hole cutout for the Incredible.

Looks like it. If you do a search for Body Glove cases kickstand on Google you'll see loads of other cases of the same type and all of them have the clip and the knob that hold the clip removable. You can also kind of see it on their website.

I do have a question if anyone actually has the Body Glove case in hand...is the back molded to fit the contours of the phone? It's hard to tell in the pics which were obviously pre-release mockups (since one of them didn't even have the cutout for the speaker on the back and the other one did. If it doesn't follow the contours, I'm seriously concerned about how much bulk this case would add, if it does, I think it would be pretty slick...especially with the kickstand for travel "docking" and watching movies, etc.

It is contoured for the phone (at least it looks that way since I don't have the phone yet). The case is pretty thin too so I don't think it will add much thickness. Your correct about the cut-outs, the photo has them in the wrong spot. Overall, looks like a pretty nice case. The one I have from VZW does NOT have the kickstand. It only has the swivel type belt clip and a dummy plug to fill the hole if you decide to remove the belt clip.

The photo is incorrect. There is a square hole for the camera and the two sensors and next to it a smaller oval shaped hole for the speakers. The one thing it does lack is the kickstand which is present on there website. If you want the kickstand, you may have to order it directly from Body Glove on there website when it comes out.

I just found out about a company called "otterbox" which makes a tough-looking case for the iphone.

iPhone 3G / 3GS Defender Series Case // OtterBox.com

Does anyone know if they are planning on releasing cases for the Incredible? Has anyone used this case before? Another interesting case from them is called the "commuter" and it looks almost identical to the case-mate tough case. I wonder, if they do release cases for the incredible, whether it would be better to buy the commuter case or even the defender case over the case-mate tough case?

I sent an email last week to Otterbox asking if the Defender Series cases that they produce for the Iphone will be available for the Incredible. This is the exact response I got back:

"We do not have any information if a case will be made at this time for that device, but it is something that has been requested. I have put in a product request on your behalf..."

I would recommend that if you like the Otterbox that is offered for the Iphone (like I do) you should contact them with a request for the Defender Series for an Incredible.

Thanks for the info. I'm so disappointed that it doesn't have the kickstand! I'll have to write body glove before I order to see how much they charge for the kickstand or if they'll have one with the kickstand clip instead. I really won't use the clip except for the kickstand.

One more thing. Just to clarify (because I do understand that we don't have the phone yet), can you see the "plateau" shape of the back ridges in the body glove case? I hope so, I think it's cool looking and won't add as much thickness.

I had contacted them about 1/2 hour before your reply and here is what they said:

We're exploring options for this device. Stay tuned!

If any of you have a minute of free time, please e-mail them here and ask them if they would make the defender case for the incredible.

Contact Information // OtterBox.com

The more people we have e-mail them, the higher the chances are that the case will be made.

This case looks, well, Incredible!

I don't get what all the hype is about the red/black gradient case. It honestly doesn't look that great in my opinion.

I bought a SwitchEasy case for my touch, and it was the coolest looking case EVER! I don't get why there aren't more companies out there that make stylish cases..

Seriously. Go check them out (switcheasy.com). Now those are some sweet cases... I wish they'd make some for the Incredible, but c'est la vie.

Does anyone know of any other companies that make stylish cases (that will likely also make them for the Incredible)?

I agree, switcheasy is by far the best case manufacturer for iPods...I've had two of them on my 3rd Gen iPod Touch, the Rebel Touch and now the Torrent Touch.
I would buy a case for my DI if they made it...

Does anyone else plan on getting the car dock when it comes out? Is anyone else concerned about how their new case will cause issues when trying to mount the Incredible to the car dock.

This is the one issue holding me back from purchasing a case before the phone arrives.

Yeah, the case has the same exact contour on the back that I see on the Incredible pics. The case does not have a flat smooth back like the pics. It looks like Body Glove followed the exact contour of the back of the phone which I think is a huge bonus.

I personally think I want a case from Seido, but I heard it may take months for them to come out with an Incredible case. The only thing that concerns me about this case/belt clip combo is that the face of the phone will be exposed. So every time I bump into a counter or something hard, I could damage the phone's screen. With the Seido case/belt clip combo, the screen is facing toward you and protected.

I also would not buy the Body Glove for the same reason.

Have you seen the Shell/Holster combo from Verizon? It is a hard rubber/plastic phone case with a matching holster with belt clip - Just like the Seidio.

If you like this style holster then I think this is going to be the best solution available at launch.

Well, basically, the reason I'm considering the body glove is because it would offer some drop protection and for the kickstand. I never clip my phone to me, it always goes in my pocket, in a slide pocket of my wallet bag or in my timbuk2 case on my backpack (depending on what I'm carrying). So, I'm not as worried about bumping the screen. The Body glove of the same style for G1 got really good reviews overall at amazon. I'm torn, because I have ways to carry the phone so in a sense just a skin would do to keep it looking nice but the most likely time for me to damage it is when I have it out using it so that's why I was thinking a hard shell case with a but of rubbery surface would help with that in the even the worse happens and I do drop it. I'd likely pick up one of those phantonskinz for the screen only. The other thing I like about the body glove case is the kickstand so it could double as a sort of portable dock. I plan to call them on Monday and see if they have the case available with the kickstand or if they'd send one out. If worst comes to worst, I can always order the replacement clip pack which includes the regular belt clip, the kickstand convertible belt clip and two of the quick slide connection knobs...whole package for $4.99. I hate to buy another clip that I won't need in all that but at least the kickstand is available separately. Does anyone know if VZW corporate stores are carrying this yet so I could look at one?

On a different but related note, any idea(s) what cases Best Buy will have at launch? I'm wondering if they'll have the same ones as VZW or a different selection.

Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to thank you for this info in my last post. It was exactly what I wanted to know. I'm glad that they followed the contours of the phone. Makes sense all the way around, for looks, protection and sleekness.

That's one of my issues with the skins. While I know a front skin would be simple to make and apply, designing one for the stepped back would be a herculean task and I can't imagine that installing it would be much fun either. Sounds like a potential for a lot of mistakes in the install.

You guys know the little neoprene sleeve that comes with the Nexus 1? Is there anywhere you can buy that exact sleeve or something very similar online?

I loved the look of that sleeve when the N1 was officially released and hoped the Incredible would come with it, but no luck. My main interest is keeping it protected while in my pocket, and that sleeve is perfect. I'm not too interested in the cases that stay on it all the time as I'm one of the very careful types, but I do have keys or chapstick in and out of my phone pocket from time to time.

If anyone knows where you can get that little N1 sleeve, it would be awesome. Hell I'll take it off someone's hands if you don't need it for your N1!

Nice find on the $4.99 replacement clip pack from Body Glove. I still like the idea of the kickstand clip.
