Question on porting numbers

Hi everyone,

I am going to bring two lines from AT&T and get an Incredible for each, if I select the option to transfer my number from another carrier today, will that cancel my AT&T service today or does it not take effect until I activate my phones? I dont really want to be without a phone for a week!

Don't cancel your AT&T service until you port your numbers. If you do, you won't get to port your numbers unless you reconnect your AT&T service.

When you port your numbers, the process will automatically set your AT&T service for disconnection. You won't have to call in and disconnect. You'll just get a final bill from them.

Assuming, of course, that AT&T does it the same way VZW does.
