Note 3 - my first Android

Hey guys! I think I may have posted once or twice to the forum months ago, but if so, that's it. So, I'm new to the forum AND new to Android. Ever since my HTC Mogul I've been on iPhone. NOT ANYMORE!

I've been wanting the Note 3 since I seen the first rumors come out around January. Now that it's here and I'm pre-ordering this weekend, I have a ton of questions. I've researched my questions and haven't found answers yet, so I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time.

1) Shoots 4K. HOW!?!!? This is BEYOND awesome (I'm a videographer so this is great for me), but I'm guessing we can only shoot like 4 minutes of video at 4K 30fps. Thoughts?

2) Will it have all of the bells and whistles that the Note 2 and the S4 have? swipe with your hand, turn the page with your eye, videos stop playing when you look away, etc?

3) What speed of Micro SD card is good? I use 95mb/s sd cards in my Canon 5D Mark III but that fast seems unnecessary for a phone. A friend told me today that the max a smartphone can transfer to or from a card is 15mb/s. Does anyone know for sure?

4) Back in March/April, I heard a lot about the Game Pad. Looked like a 360 controller that you put your phone in. I'm not a big gamer, but seemed to be really cool. I haven't heard anything about it since. Did it ever release? Was it just a rumor?

I had more questions, but I can't think of them currently. I haven't been this excited about getting a new phone since I had the Nextel Blackberry 7100i (TRASH!) and upgraded to the HTC Mogul LOL. I don't even care what Apple announces next week!

Sorry this was so long. If you guys have any other thoughts or tips for a new user, or stuff that you know about the Note 3, please share. Have a great weekend, guys!

Hi!

I can't speak to the S4 features, but I pre-ordered today and found a 64GB SanDisk pro Class 10 microSD card on Amazon that will do nicely. Look forward to getting the phone on or about October 10th. :)

Another question. Does anyone know if we will be able to edit videos on it? I know Adobe Premiere won't be available on a phablet but if there is a way to edit and color grade a video on the phone?

I'm interested in being one of the first people to shoot a music video, edit it and color grade it all on the Note 3.

First off, in case it wasn't said last March, Welcome to AF and welcome to Android. (once again) :D

okay lets see.. some answers to your questions

1-How it does it, who knows but it does. I believe I saw a blog/video that showed how long of a video, but I can't find it now.
2-Yes.
3-The_Chief gave a good answer above
4-There was a tweet I saw this morning from androidcentral about a game pad for the Note 3. see youtube below
5-There are a few video editing apps in the play market, one I see that might be useful is AndroVid Video Trimmer, but there are quite a few so look around.
