Hi Guys!
I'm a total noob here so I apologize in advance if I ask silly questions that have previously been answered
I have seen posts regarding similar problems as my own; unrooted Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 running stock 4.1.2 firmware becoming stuck on the 2nd samsung logo (the pulsating "samsung" right before the OS loads) for no apparent reason. This phone has never been tampered with and has never had a memory card.
All I can tell you is that it was low on memory (both system and internal) and had the battery taken out. On reinsertion it failed to progress past the 2nd "samsung" logo, the "menu" and "back" soft keys light up so it is very close to starting though never does.
From the small amount of research I have done it seems this is a common enough problem with an equally well documented fix; re-install the software on the phone using Odin? As I can get the phone into download and recovery modes I'd say i might be able to do this (with the help of some fantastic user guides on here-thank you everyone)
I have tried connecting the phone to my computer though it is not recognized, neither is it recognized by Kies.
So my question is If I flash the same firmware version as what was already on the phone will I lose all my data (pictures, contacts etc)?
Thanks Guys!
