Root NexTheme ESE81 R3 Release (4/21/10) - New Goodies!

Fab, you working on a new build for BB1.0?

You mean the leak? That's how R3 started off, but then I ran into a boot loop issue with BB. The themes and additional apps applied fine, but after a factory reset, everything went to hell.

So, I just made the changes over R2. If I have some more time, I might try a little harder on BB...but I'm trying to graduate :p

lol I feel you, man - my finals ended Thursday afternoon, so I am now just waiting for grades to be submitted.

I suppose since it is a *leak* it is best to wait until something final comes out, then, eh?

I'll try updating my R2 with your R3 and seeing if it works fine or not....

The leak is pretty stripped down... as expected. But man do I love that snap!!. ;)

Quick is an understatement... and the stock look refreshing.

I have a droid and did a fresh install wiped data cache and other option to wipe as well . Im using new r3 didnt load anything else beside the file with the widgets.help please

Thanks for the quick response. this is working great on my droid so far.. One question tho. Everytime i plug my droid into pc and the add files to card and remove cable/Unmount sd card my droid reboots. Also when i try to turn my droid off. It doesnt go off it just reboots. Any ideas?

Absolutely. I suggest it.

Are you using a Mac? I've had reports that it may do that on Macs.

Unfortunately, I have no experience or method of testing on a Mac, so I don't know the root of this issue.

Hopefully it won't be there when I change to a bugless beast base.

No using XP 32 bit. No matter what everytime i unplug from PC it reboots phone. Also i cant shut the phone off it just reboots when i try and turn off. LOL 0ther than that it is perfect.

You might want to copy everything off the sd card onto your pc and then reformat the sd card. Choose to auto fix errors and do a full format, not quick. Then copy everything back.

ever since version 2 on the htc keyboard i cant get it to make the typing noises ive tried all the settings in the htc settings am i missing something
thanks in advance

Yeah I switched to Helix1 from Helix2.. I tried, but it tends to lag, then it started FCing after I updated a couple apps (my guess is Audio Manager) so I switched back the Helix1..

Hmm, works for me. Just to be sure, your phone isn't on silent, is it?

Fab.. just installed R3 over R2 (didn't wipe anything) and everything is working like a charm! 3D App Try works flawlessly for me with no real lag. The screens move so much nicer in HL2 than in HL1 in my opinion.

I had already said in another post that the Wired Tether app works (had another real life example while on the road from VA to PA yesterday).

Runs smooth, cool and most importantly fast! P3Droid Kernel FTW!

Haha, seriously though, awesome rom...

Hi...

Loving R3!

Have a quick question..... I'm having trouble with Metamorph. Specifically, I'm trying to change the battery indicator. It's a file I've installed before with no problem and now it just does nothing after the reboot. Any ideas on why or what to do?

Thanks
Kathy

Update on R3 based on my own usage..

I'm noticing a difference in battery usage from R2 to R3. With R2, I could go from 7am till 10pm with typically 80% of my battery left from moderate usage (Pandora on the ride to and from work, web surfing, email). But in two days with R3, I'm getting significantly less battery life. Today in particular, from 7am to 4pm (EST), I am now at 50% charge level... not sure if the 3D launcher has anything to do with it. Going to let it ride for another day and then remove the 3D Launcher to see if it improve the battery life at all.

Not sure if this happened to anybody but for some reason I lost the custom Droid Market icon. It reverted back to the stock looking icon.

I've been running this ROM for several weeks now and this is the only problem I've run into. Does anyone have that custom icon so it can be MetaMorphed back? Thanks

ha, i just came to this thread to post this exact same issue. I installed it on monday and it was there all day then it reverted back about 3 or 4 hours later..kind of weird.

Yeah, mines been reverted for a couple days too. I tried rethemeing it again with metamorph, but to no avail. I think there might have been an update or something that moved it over to the data partition, but I'm not for sure.

I'll try to figure this out when I get some free time.

There was a stealth update to the market... There were no prompts or announcements or a download for that matter but the version number has changed... This is effecting all themes as far as I know... There is a post about it in jrummy's thread over on the CM forums...

Market Fix

1. Settings, Applications, Manage, Market, Uninstall Updates
2. Download: Vending.apk

3. Put Vending.apk on the root of your sdcard
4.
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
busybox cp /sdcard/Vending.apk /system/app
mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
sync

OR

Code:
adb push Vending.apk /system/app

You may need to relink your apps to the market. Titanium backup has a 'market docter' feature that does this in like 20s.
