Ultimate "Droid Does" story

Hey all,

I posted this on another forum but thought I'd share it here too.

All right, first of all this is an absolutely true story.

I'm sitting in the Service Managers office at a local car dealership today. He has a Droid and every time I go in I always show him a new app or something cool he didn't know his Droid could do.

I told him that I had found the most awesome app, "PhoneMyPC". I opened it up to show him, clicked on my Home PC and told him that we were looking at my PC desktop at my house. He was in awe!!

While we were watching, my screen suddenly filled with little thumbnails of naked women. I started freaking out, not knowing what was going on. I then realized I had just busted my 11 year old son looking up porn for the first time.

From across town. ON MY DROID!

As a father, I wasn't sure how to feel, but my buddy told me that it's one of things that every Dad goes through at some point and we both had a good laugh.

Needless to say, my son and I had a good talk when I got back home today.

Just needed to share.

I would have hit the X on that window super fast..and kept doing so until he gave up. I too have that app..comes in very handy:p

I love phonemypc. I use it all the time, and I also have a co-worker with a Droid that I'm always showing stuff to, so I can imagine this happening to me, to. Only it would be my wife, and I would be catching her ordering stuff online that we don't need!

Look at the bright side. He was looking at naked women. :)

Re: Son and porn odyssey - been there, done that...luckily, my discovery of his actions was at home, rather than in front of local retailers... ;)

You should check your PC(s) for spyware/adware and worse...those sites can include crap like that, and my son had clicked on a "viewer" download option that put crap on his PC that took me a couple hours to clear off...

Oh, and if he has a phone w/photo viewing capability...just sayin'. :D

Parental locks to the rescue.

Good story though - I am still on the lookout for a good, cheap app that uses the native Remote Desktop built into my Windows 7 installs...

I may break down and buy Remoid.....

Not cheap.. but XtraLogic Remote Desktop Client works very well.

From an IT standpoint this app is awesome! It has chugged through everything that I've thrown at it admirably. Even had to use it once for a work pc that I had to connect to that used our logmein account to connect to a customers computer. All in all through a chain of 4 computers there was no slow down and I was able to get my client taken care of while I waited for my food to arrive at red lobster.
