Downgrade Samsung Galaxy s2 to Gingerbread

I am trying to downgrade a Samsung Galaxy S2 from 4.0.4 to 2.3.5 as Gingerbread is still a very popular OS for android and this is being used as a test device for development.

I have found through this forum a a guide to help me along the way, (I can't post the link due to this being my first post), but the phone came with 4.0.4 stock and I can't seem to find a Gingerbread download file to be able to flash this device.

Is it safe to use any other firmware downloads? Is there a specific one I can download and use? Is it going to be impossible?

Thanks, I jumped straight in after I posted the question and it worked. Had to ensure I did a factory reset or the setup wizard would Force Close.
