Aaaaaaah, now I get it~! Graveyard! It gets lonely in the last time zone. hehe. I know a bunch of people are dispelling the May release....but I am praying for a before June release. I'm going to Japan like on the 1st. I don't wanna take my TP! I wanna take the EVO!!! If I wasn't going to Japan I don't think I'd be this impatient.
I understand, it's not everyday that we get to hold a technological first in our hands. This will be a be breed of technology and hope the young pups out here can recognize this it only comes once in a life time. The planets have aligned the moon is in alignment. Buy some Sprint Stock and watch you Christmas portfolio grow.

Describable, I do not own Sprint stock and will not own Sprint stock...This is a gift....Quote me

Humm... mind if I ask if I can still make calls with that antiperspirant?

Sorry once again iI miss the pioint?

Heh, you recommended we buy some Sprint Stick (obviously meant stock which I highlighted above) I was making a refrence to Speed Stick (Sprint Stick)... oh nvm it's late or early however you want to look at it and just found it funny.

Oh, it will do just that. My concern is draining the battery in 1 minute :D. I wanted a HD2 with Android on Sprint since the HD2 was released in Europe, and while I am still a little upset that Sense on Android isn't identical to the WM Sense, I am still ecstatic about the EVO and can't wait to pick one up! That screen is addictive!

If you are worried about battery life you can do two things...turn data off when not using it (i can go over 5 hours and not drop 1%) and you can buy some spares on eBay. Also if you have a hero they have the same battery.

I know all my nuggets get tucked away for those wondering. I work 7pm to 7am (compressed work week) at Intel. I chill in my cubical, surfing what nuggets are left, and I share them here on the thread. I am fortunate to catch a very early morning breaking news on the east coast, because I am on the west coast.(You can do the math) I catch those over eager peeps, that are trying to make a name for them selves and share them with the thread..before coffee hour. I hope it helps. Cheers,

i just sold my INTC after owning it for 12+ years. dead money for way too long. and now i know why. too many employees screwing around over there when they should be working! get back to work!

turn off data? that's overkill IMO. i say turn off WIFI, GPS, BT and any other services and widgets you're not using. data is the lifeblood of Android and turning it off really defeats the purpose of the phone. the 1500 MAMP battery should be good. i've held the HD2 and i think it could almost be considered too thin. personally - i would have accepted a slightly thicker device along with a 2000 MAMP battery if it would have been possible.

I only turn it off when I'm not glued to this site lol

You could also uninstall some of the software the comes with Sprint phones by default, for example I found an app that auto uploads pictures and videos anytime the camera does anything automatically to youtube and facebook. I open my task killer and find it hogging 23mb of ram even when its not doing anything which is absurd in my opinion.

If you turn data off you get no emails that's a big no no for me.

what task killer app do you recommend?

I'm using one that comes built into Home++ which is a replacement launcher that enables me to have up to 7 screens and copter view similar to sense but if you want a standard task killer I'd go with Automatic Task Killer which will let you flag apps to never be killed but also automatically kills apps that just clutter up memory and have no reason to be running in the background.

I do wear deodorant and you have offended me therefore I will ignore you. I am simply helping out. i am not making suggesting in way form or fashion. If you believe in a product then and the product is good. I don't need to say anymore

If you think that the EVO is a good product and you believe that it will be the next "it Phone" Then prove it "Buy some Sprint Stock"

Stocks are like the lottery, play with it. along as you can afford it, and be happy win or lose.
I did several day ago and thus far I am happy...
Make of it, what you will...Just thought I would pass it along.

For u I would say keep data on but get some extra batteries and a battery charger

Some say don't use task killers but I use advanced task killer. There are plenty in the market too

People who say that task killers shouldn't be used because they hog up battery life are users that don't understand how to use a task killer. If you flag certain apps to be auto killed Android will re-run it automatically therefore you end up killing your battery because the task killer kills it and android reopens it back up creating a viscous cycle and killing your battery, certain apps need to be running all the time.

Huh? That wasn't meant as an insult, it was a joke and it didn't insinuate that you don't wear deodorant at all, in any case I apologize if you misinterpreted that the wrong way.

i'll probably hold off on the task killer unless i really need one.

right now the only apps i want are -

1. AndFTP
2. Astro File Mgr
3. Streaming Radio App (not sure which one yet but i have a few in mind)
4. MyBackupPro
5. PowerSearch
6. ZagatToGo
7. DocsToGo Premium

i don't want to clutter my device with a million apps. i'm a minimalist and i like to keep it simple and keep only what i need and will use.

Give RadioTime a go it's pretty neat and has lots of local station it's run completely off data and unlike pandora where you can't really manually pick station this one gives you a pretty big selection. It gets your local stations via gps and then categorizes the rest by genre.

well i'm planning on testing -

1. DroidLive
2. MMSLite
3. MMSRadio
4. AORadio
5. StreamFurious
6. RadioTime

the key is i want to be able to input links and stream both Bloomberg Radio AM and Hot 97 FM. i'll have my finance/business radio and my hip hop radio and i'm good to go. this is all i need.

can you stream these? with what app(s)? i don't have an Android device to test yet. thanks.

geez. finally reached the end. only to play catch up again when i wake up later. this place is growing exponentially with new forum members and posts. crazy.

anyways, about the sprint chat reps saying that it will be out in may....i think those reps have to get their info about the phone by the time that contest rolls out. just in case they have to do any tech support from those few using it or to answer the deluge of inquiries about it when it breaks to the masses.

i swear, if i was a winner, i wouldn't take too long to blog about it if i had to. i'd probably try to figure out video streaming or something and upload a video with me screaming, "wassup snitches! i'm on 4g! how ya like me now!" or something to that extent, and rub it in everyone's faces as quickly as possible.

and with the speed of 4g, it will help me do that. =)
