If you are going for a thin case with minimum lip, get tempered glass screen protector. Otherwise, that's going to be your screen

Interesting, I was actually thinking of not using a case on this when I get it since it apparently feels great without one, but this may have swayed me into getting one.

At least a screen protector.

I'm hoping a body skin is also available,like the one I have on the HTC ONE.Paired w/a bumper (haven't seen any yet) would make a decent minimalist option to going caseless.

Of course, you're forsaking some protection in the trade-off, but, could be enough for occasions that present less risk to damage.

Good point,start w/some maximum protection & go from there,peeling off the layers,so to speak.

These demos are nice,C-NET & the like do similar tests.
However,they do not sway me one way or the other when choosing a phone.

Barring a ruggedized phone,most will not do well when dropped,it's Russian Roulette @ best.

If you're prone to dropping your phone,whether be @ work,whatever,a case of some sort is gonna offer a bit of protection.

If not,I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm going to enjoy my phone & take care of it,to varying degrees,dependent upon situation.But,I'm in no way gonna worry about something happening to it,as such in the video.That's what insurance (& cases/screen protectors,if you choose) are for.

But I do plan on getting a Spigen Slim Armour. So I think that would pass the face drop, unless the phone flexes alot within the Slim armour even

That looks very interesting! 8H hardness rating is close to a typical 9H tempered glass. With tempered glass during direct impact the glass of the protector gets shattered while protecting phone screen. With 8H hardness and flexible nature of this glass - in theory it should keep screen protector intact without shattering. Keep in mind that due to reduced bezel size and thickness of such screen protector, some of the cases might not work with it (just guessing from S4 experience, Spigen might be one of those).
