Root [Verizon] Cleanrom ACE question

Hey guys,

I just rooted my phone not too long ago and I was running Jedi and the gps wasn't locked on so I heard about CleanROM and how stable it is and heard it locks on the spot for gps?So I flashed and now here I am.Play store does not work with or without wifi.Home button doesn't work either?I'm also getting sync erros for my Google account. o.O
 
I've been running CleanRom ACE 4.6.1 since I got the Note. I've not had any issues with it but then I haven't installed newer version's for it either. :confused:

Which gaaps are you using?I'm using the latest one.can you link me the version of ACE you're using?Thanks :)
 
You have to be careful installing the latest gApps. That's usually for the highest android version, or 4.3 right now. You don't want to install the latest on a 4.2 or earlier device.

How do I know which is which?I was pretty sure I installed the latest one for a 4.1 device.Also for CleanROM the gps doesn't seem to lock on.it'll tell me to go somewhere then it'll completely stop and start searching for gps.Any roms with a steady gps?
 
GPS doesn't seem to work on Cleanrom.I'm currently on Paranoid,GPS is awesome buy battery life is terrible
 
Every device I own has to have a working gps, but except for testing, I have yet to use one, except my phone. (Both our vehicles have a 5" Garmin.)

Yeah for some reason I can't get gps to work on the Note2 with Cleanrom 5.0 it just searches for gps and never locks on :/
 
The dev for Clean Rom has retired, which is why I switched to Beantown's rom, which is also based on stock. Of course, that would require another wipe. :D
 
How's the battery life on that one? Is rom manager something I should still use to backup my roms, so I could give it Beans a try? Or do you suggest something else?
 
Rom manager isn't used much these days. It's been replaced by Goo Manager and possibly by the new app, Rom Installer (by the same dev as Rom Manager).

I create a backup in recovery (TWRP).

My phone is idle most of the day and I usually have 85-90% by bedtime, when it goes on the charger. I leave wifi and gps on 24/7 and use wifi where available (home and friend's/relative's homes).
