Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

True, but since the Nexus 5 looks to be a G2 lite, the devs are expecting to easily port Roms from the Nexus 5. And according to the FCC filing, the size is actually very close between the two. But I do agree that MP mean nothing with the camera, as long as it takes great pictures. And if power consumption is similar, than the smaller bat may be OK. But having a bigger battery is never a bad thing.

I thought the G2 had a locked bootloader though, or has it been unlocked?

good Morning all! I am wondering what rom everyone is running on their 2012 Nexus 7? I am on SmoothRom v 5.2 and it has become very laggy, time to find something else.

@bread....device payment plan. I forgot all about it. Pay off over 12 months and keep unlimited. I'm in store right now.

I was looking around on the internet at stuff earlier and then all of a sudden the "device payment plan" popped in head. I found an article from April that said you can keep unlimited by doing this. So I drove right over to the Verizon store and tell the guy what I want to do. He said hold on and went into the back then came out and told me I'll be kicked off unlimited. I was sure he was wrong. As I walked out the door I called Verizon and a very nice lady confirmed that I can keep unlimited and she stayed on the phone as I walked back in the store and gave my phone to the store rep so that she could explain to him the I can keep unlimited. I win. :)

Won't allow me to do it online, prompts me to change plans when I select a payment plan for the phone.
Ah, this is different as it's a 12month plan, not 24 months.

Good luck with work and school. I did it for two years, getting 4hrs or less sleep a night, 7 days a week. It WILL eventually get to you.

My take on the G2 so far.

The screen is beautiful. I really like the thin bezel and appearance that gives of almost all screen on the front. The size of the screen is great for viewing. For one handed use, me personally I have small hands, so my thumb only reaches 3/4 of the way starting from the bottom right corner. I could reach more on the Gnex with the smaller screen but it was still a stretch.

The Volume is SO much better than the Gnex. I would like to hear it against the Htc One.

I like LGs keyboard layout over Googles. I can't say if their predictive text and autocorrect is better than others? I had some hiccups yesterday and not sure if it was me or the keyboard?

The pulldown menu is definitely busy. I'm not sure yet if that can be cleaned up?

The battery seems great so far. I keep hearing how good it is. So for once I'm going use to use Google browser and Chrome to Phone. Those two always killed my Gnex battery.

The "Knock" feature is okay. When it is on, "knock off" works everytime. When it is off, "knock on", can take up to 3 or 4 tries or just 1.

I noticed it has Smart Screen(don't turn off while looking) and Smart Video(pause video when not looking). I have not tried either of those yet.

It might be all plastic but feels well made. Feels great in the hand. I'm still not a fan of the back buttons, but whatever.

Onscreen buttons, yes!! Should be on ALL phones!

The responsiveness of the screen is great.

I don't see why LG has forced the Vienna Boys Choir on us?

The camera. I took a few pics. See bellow, they will be hidden. Also, if you click on original size, they are BIG.

About the two pics taken outside of the locomotives. Those were taken at sunset. The sun wasn't even visible and pretty much gone. The sky WAS NOT anywhere near that bright and it was pink way in the back above the building in the foreground. Overall it was darker out than those pics show.

That's all I can think of for now. Sorry about the randomness :o

Hi folks! Back from a romantic weekend getaway at an idyllic B&B in the mountains of North Georgia. Sludged though 163-email backlog, lots of stuff, mail, unpacked before the rain hit and here I am again! :D

Hope all is well with everyone, congrats on your run Kelmar!

Here's two more I took while at the local sports bar tonight for the Pirates game. Keep in mind that this place is usually barely lit inside. When it is dark outside most of the light inside comes from the tvs. The lights inside are turned down to almost off. Just like a picture I took yesterday, the picture doesn't look anywhere near as dark as it actually was.

One more thing...GO SEE GRAVITY!!!

DOGGONE!

You think the bar has enough TVs?

I think it's a pschological tactic to encourage more purchases: after that level of information overload, anybody would need a drink! :p

Nice resolution and clarity, though!
