I had fairly solid 3G here, or it seemed so, until maybe mid August. Not sure what happened but data seemed to get throttled from the start of the cycle so I'm wondering if Sprint/Boost got a ton of new subscribers here before the new school year or what. Maybe it's always been this bad September (through spring).
On the OpenSignal app it does indicate Sprint & T-Mobile have terrible service here.

Just got this phone coming from samsung galaxy rush and wow!
I've had the phone for about 30 days now, and I haven't had any problems.. A few issues I've had is mainly the gps. It's weird tho, the gps is perfect until I turn on waze. (so maybe it's a waze issue) I get solid locks until I turn it on. Another issue is that the battery seems to run down quickly. I do use the browser a lot., so I'm not sure if that's normal. Other than that the phone has been great. I've never used a smartphone before so I have nothing to compare too. I got mine for 140.00 at best buy. In general, I'm really enjoying the phone

I paid $300 at boost, then I paid $200 at best buy after my first one got stolen. I wish I coulda paid $140, hell
Yea,140. New,after taxes it came to like 170, i really dig the phone, my only issue is the battery..the gps issue has been solved with gps status &toolbox. The battery however, is ridiculous. Im charging it at least twice a day. In general, exvellentphone for the price
How does that app help?
Not quite sure I followed the directions.. It states to reset m-gps she then download new m-gpsdata ..I did both and it seem to work fine now. I believe the problem was within the waze program, every other app which require GPS seem to lock fine, just the waze program had the issue

It's a good phone for $140! The battery runs down fast just trying to hang on to a radio signal. I discontinued my Boost Mobile service and when I checked my battery status on here earlier, it's still holding a radio signal and that used 30% of the battery. Not sure why it's still looking for a signal. Standby battery is good, though. It will last a whole day with light internet use.
My battery lasts all day traveling. I usually use a little bit of everything including tethering, gps and my battery lasts. Maybe your battery is bad.

No, I think there could be a lot of power going towards holding onto a signal. I just don't know why it still is, since I ported out last month.
