Hmm you guys are saying that the 1500 mAH batter is biggest on the cellphone market today. Do you just mean not sold by 3rd party producers? Because I have a 3500 mah batter for my Hero that I bought from Seidio. Works awesomely. The only issue with that is the fact that it came with a new back for the hero so somehow I'll have to get a new back for the evo if I plan on using it for the phone.
 
whats up guys. shot an 87. happy with that (and you cant beat a free round). could may 22 be the bestbuy pre sale date?

He meant stock battery, not extended.

Hi Dylan. Glad you enjoyed your game. Right now, it looks like May 22nd will just be another day, but it will be another day closer to launch.
 
Well sorry guys...I tried to source some samples for you guys:

But my account with Molex (and other parts manufacturers) has been terminated since I haven't worked in hardware manufacturing in 6 years. This would have been a cool surprise for all you guys but I'm sure most of you are pretty resourceful and will find cheaper alternatives. I just wanted to get a batch order set up and hook you guys up, but I pulled an EPIC fail here. But yup there's the part. You can look at the specs and all the boring technical details in the PDFs if you want. It should be more widely available through all other cable retailers soon.

Hey Bill - the price usually depends on the bulk order you place. When I used to source out parts, we would try to get the best deal by purchasing large bulk 300 - 500 so the price would be around 5-7 bucks each but that was for the SCSI cables we used to order.

I can't really give a definite price because I was just trying to get a few (ahem ahem) free "test" samples using my old account (if you catch my drift) :) That was an AWESOME advantage I had being a hardware engineer - getting free samples to "test" before we determine a large bulk order purchase.


I wish I could price them for you individually but I what I wanted to do was get a few for free and have you hold a contest or raffle for them or something for this site :) Sorry I failed. I will try to get an estimate for pricing but like I said - by that time, monoprice and other retailers should hopefully get a HUGE bulk order that we can all partake in.
 
Prices are crazy right now as the cable style is still brand new. I would expect to see them pop up on the overseas sites like Meritline, Monoprice, and DealXtreme in the next few weeks or so. Pricing would probably be much cheaper as well.

I may have missed some previous discussion about this....am I correct in assuming this is the cable we will need for the EVO 4G? I sounds like Cary is saying it will be available from places like Monoprice before long....correct. You know...us slow guys need a little extra help!

Edit: Okay...even my posts are slow. So I take it....relax...before you know it we can order from Monoprice. Never mind...nothing to see here....carry on...

Dan just sent me an email. I have confirmation that NYC will be getting 4G on May 12th. As for anything else going on that day i do NOT know. That is going to be the main focus of the event. I have been told that a release date will mor than likely be given. Prob not a price but its possible. At an event like this its going to focus on how awesome 4G is in the biggest city in the world. Then they will say when the phone is available. Commercials will start shortly after this but not on that day!

Ohh and yeah, June release, May is out of the question.

Also during this time there will be a promo movie displayed on May 12th, not sure which one just know the company. Release date is looking like around the same date that Jackson has mentioned, as employees cannot take vacation late may or early June.

Detroit should have it around the end of the year, currently being tested in another city in Michigan.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but 15 plus 5 for shipping and possibly tax were over 20 bucks wouldn't it b cheaper to just buy it at a sprint store?
 
Crikey - I don't log in for a day or so and this place explodes with several more pages of chatter and even a hint of drama! Wow! Good show... this is definitely a fun ride.

i don't like this video it seemed really biased. they act like verizon and at&t are just going to have it all as soon as they start . sprint has the jump on them and so verizon and at&t will have to build from the ground up as well . even when they get theirs up it was clearly stated that a verizon phone won't come until next summer 2011. so they can have towers up but no device to use it on. while sprint will have a device and still building . even if the evo was just a 3G device it would still be better . i didn't like that video at all .
 
oh and regards to the battery life. 2.1 helps alot actually. i mean i use the leaked rom on my hero and it works so much better . smoother and the battery life i get a full day out of it. so just imagine the official release of whenever the update will be sent out . next month hopefully but 2.1 alone will help and i use advanced task killer the free version and it works just as good as any. the only thing it lacks is killing apps on the bootup . but yea having a task killer is good to. also remember to have emails and any type of sync thing set for every hour or 2 hours or manually . because if you have it set for every 30 or 15 minutes you have your phone working hard.
 
Just to go along with what Jackson has been telling us and for people to really get rid of the May thoughts for themselves and have peace of mind knowing it'll be june, I made this post in the "May Release" thread that was started.

EVP sells to employees of coporations and you can clearly see in the email I posted that ALL of the discounted phone promotional prices ends on June 5. If that doesn't corolate enough with the June 6 date Jackson had mentioned, I don't know what other kind of "proof" people would want.

I was in Best Buy about a week ago and they told me that I can pre order the Evo in about a week or two. So, I will check back later on this week. I signed up to get an email when Evo comes out.

So do you think if the chance comes up to release the phone a week ahead of schedule they wouldn't because they have some promotion going on?

Like I said before, every single day that goes by Sprint is losing customers who are going with the Incredible. By NOT setting an official date so far that tells me that the process is still really fluid right now, but don't think some promotion is "proof" that its influencing when the Evo will get released.
