Help Note 3 as a phone believe it or not..

Just wanted to know, when talking to folks on the phone ( coz it is a phone as well ) I get the earpiece to clip or pop as the volume is too loud. Is this normal? I would have thought the software would have prevented this from occuring, or is it that my earpiece is duff?

Do me a favour, next time someone calls you put the earpiece to max volume and come back with results, thanks.

I can't hear that well (years of running the car stereo too loud) so my volume is at max 100% of the time. So far, I have not had any pops, cracks or other noises not coming from the person I'm calling. Sounds like you may have a defective speaker

Is your carrier Sprint? Just curious since I just read an article earlier today that Sprint Note 3 users are experiencing this sort of issue and Sprint has acknowledged they should investigate.

Nope, AT&T. It sounds like a Sprint network issue then.

Something to try, get a google voice phone number:
https://www.google.com/voice

Then install this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moplus.gvphone&hl=en

Turn on airplane mode, then turn on wifi and connect to wifi. This way your cell data/network is 100% disconnected

Make a call using that app to your home and see if it happens. That should narrow down if it is the network or your speaker.

Thanks for the tips appreciate it. I think I am being hypercritical. Just called the wife ( she aint got a deep voice ) told her to shout and no clipping or distortion. Well with no, I mean it aint no Bang and Olson speakers LOL. I blame myself perhaps for being too picky.

The absolute best method for testing out if its the carrier or the device. Great idea!

+1!

Tried this, it tells me airplane mode is on and needs to be off before I can place a call. I did choose Google voice as method of calling.
