Disable Hardware Menu Button?

Is there any way to disable the hardware menu button? I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus with no "always on" menu button, so having to reach to the bottom of the phone for the menu/overflow is very confusing in commonly used apps like the Play Store.

Go in to settings then display and choose touch light key duration and turn it off.

Go in to settings then display and choose touch light key duration and turn it off.

That just turns the light off, it does nothing to affect whether Android thinks there is a menu button or not.
