Help Problem playing media

So I recently rooted my phone and did away with a lot of the bloatware using NoBloat and Titanium. I was pretty certain that I hadn't gotten rid of anything essential, however no whenever I try to play videos sent through MMS or any of the videos from my SD card, it says that it can't play the video. I downloaded MX Player, which solved the problem for the movies from the SD card, but it didn't fix the issue with the MMS videos.

Is there anyway to download the file/program that handles this? I'm new to the Android OS and I'm pretty lost here.

I just got through experiencing this same problem. Bet you froze the Video Player app thinking it was bloatware. Go into TiBU, hit Backup/Restore, and defrost Video1.00.041001.3 and/or Video Player 1.1. Bet they will play now!

If you deleted the Video Player (heaven help you if you did), the road is a little harder. You can try this, but I'm not saying it will work since it is for the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S4. Here's a link to a thread where one of the posters (#5) put up a download link for a zip file of all the Verizon GS4 stock apk's:

I think the filename is SecVideoPlayer.apk, but I'd research that a little more before loading it. This is odexed, so you'll have to look elsewhere if you want a deodexed file. The SecVideoPlayer.odex file is in there as well.

I think you can load the app through any File Manager if you are rooted. I'll leave the procedure to install this up to our more-experienced posters.

In the future, always freeze "bloatware" apps and see what happens with your phone for a while before deleting them. I learned this the hard way. Anyway, good luck!

I have yet to see a shred of evidence that removing so-called bloatware serves any useful purpose. If you have a backup, you would be best off restoring it and leaving it at that.

Unfortunately neither of those are on my phone. I don't know why I would have gotten rid of them, but I'm downloading the linked pack as we speak. Hopefully that should fix my problem

EDIT: Interestingly enough, neither of those files are in the pack

Dear god! Is there any way some one here can Deodex the file for me? I have ZERO clue what I'm doing.

Boy, I don't know what to tell you - I downloaded the Verizon Galaxy S4 Stock apk.zip file and both SecVideoPlayer.apk and SecVideoPlayer.odex are there. Can someone help this person out? I'd hate to see him not be able to enjoy his device.

Maybe try VLC Video Player if this doesn't work out? I hear that one's pretty good.

So the APK is the deodexed? Interesting. MobileGo keeps givinge me an error when I try to install it to the device. Do you know the directory the files are located in? Maybe I can manually drop the file in

Stock system files aren't installed. You're supposed to put them in System/App manually using a root file manager. Only "updates" can be installed the natural way by launching the APK.

There's no directory in my phone called System/app. I'm on a galaxy s4. Dunno if that helps
If this folder does not exist on your phone, either you aren't rooted which makes it hidden, or your phone is bricked. It's the android system folder and your phone cannot function without it. ;)

Most file explorers with root permission default to the root directory. If this is not the case with whichever one you're using, keep exiting folders until you are on the top level ( / ). You then scroll down to system and then enter that folder followed by the app folder.

Awesome, that was it. I'll try it out when I get home.

Edit: Well, the video player files are indeed there
