apps not deleting from app drawer

When I try to delete an app one I downloaded not one preinstalled by VZW it won't delete unless I go into application manager from settings. If I drag it to the top of the screen to remove it just stays in the app drawer. Anyone else experiencing this?

Guessing that you are using the stock launcher. It says app info on left and remove on right? if do, you have to drag to app info and then select delete.

ok thanks Not sure why remove does not work They should change the name of remove to This button does nothing

Un install from the app drawer makes perfect sense to me.

You want to have to reinstall an app every time you remove it from the home screen?

The Remove at the top is only for removing the icon from whatever screen you happen to be on. Some launchers add the option to actually uninstall in the same way, but the stock launcher only gives the option to remove the shortcut that way. Otherwise you have to uninstall through App Manager or the like.

That surprised me at first too. Not sure if that limitation was added by LG? I'm sure I could delete (entirely) from the app drawer on my gnex.

My bionic was drag to remove from app drawer it would uninstall. if you did it from home screen it would just remove icon. So it threw me off. I was confused as to why it wasn't working. And the Bionic was close to stock as moto makes their phones that way

It's all dependent on the UI used by the manufacturer, and how they set it up, is all. Might be something LG updates down the road too, hard to say. I got used to it on Apex launcher, they have a manage apps setting right in the menu that takes me right there. But I was used to it on my Nexus to uninstall there too. Just a matter of which phone I'm using, but I'm not the most picky either.

In the stock launcher, go to your app drawer, hit the settings icon (cog) at the top, then find the app you want to uninstall and hit the red x on the icon.

It's a bit more cumbersome than the stock way, but similar to the Sammy TouchWiz way.

Thanks for the tip. I'd done that before accidentally and noticed the x's. Just didn't put two and two together when it came to this.
