ISSUES!!! Home key button moves! Spen isnt easy to take out!

Why do you keep saying we all? Several people have reported not having this problem in this thread. Don't you believe them?

Think in this case, it was a figure of speech. It may be a good idea to have a poll to get an idea of how many owners have this issue.

Having looked at the video which was posted of the wonky button, I'm beginning to wonder if the wider chrome around the home button could be the cause in some handset.

The home buttons on the Note1/2 didn't have it. I can't recall seeing threads on the Note 2 forums but I could be 'wrong' . I will check to see if there are some.

I deleted that post after watching the video. There truly is no point in arguing this issue. If you push the button from the side it will move. The thing is the button is made to be pushed straight down on. It reminds me of the old joke; Patient to Doctor: Doctor, Doctor, it hurts when I hold my arm like this... Doctor: Well, stop holding your arm like that.

I dont see the loose button as a design flaw as much as intentional design. I could be wrong but ive been living with a sticky home button on the iphone 4 for over a year. The button never moved but hardly worked! As long as the button keeps working I am satisfied. It seems that every phone has the loose button maybe some more than others. I say dont let it ruin your enjoyment of the phone!

The button on mine is fine. Rather than mention my carrier, I will mention that my Note 3 was made in Vietnam; perhaps we can establish if notes with loose buttons are from one country? (I hear some are made in China? and I think Taiwan aswell)

My Verizon Note 3 home button doesn't stick out that far either. This may be why there is so much play in yours. mine wont move like that because the side of the button stops it.

I read this yesterday and then the home button/stylus became an item of concern on my Verizon Note 3 (Made in China). An OCD concern only because it functioned properly - but the stylus was really hard to get out.

So we first opened a new phone and just swapped my stylus. It was something with the stylus causing to wedge in there harder - replacing that solved that issue!

Next step, conquer the home button thing that I am going to call a myth. I believe this was an intentional design and some people are just having trouble seeing it. I say this because we opened 12 BLACK phones and 3 white phones while I was standing there. (The saleslady helps me every time I go in - she knows I am OCD about electronics.) EVERY one had the issue. Not one was different than the other. Some were made in China and 2 in Taiwan. So I determined it as normal and then moved on.

The next step - to resolve my OCD was to go to At and T and test theirs. I have a friend who works there (because everyone I know is a nerd) and his that he bought had the same "play". We opened 3 white and 3 black. Same thing.

I truly believe people not witnessing the issue are just having trouble seeing it. It is VERY slight and VERY subtle. I would like to see a video of someone NOT experience the issue. This will finalize my myth theory and either debunk it or prove it. This will also set a lot of our minds at ease - and provide us with what the next step should be. Often as an early adopter, you end up with some crazy item that is resolved by getting a warranty replacement down the line.

To reproduce this issue, for a video from a person who has no issues:

1: Place your thumb on the button and pull it down.
2: Play your finger nail on the bottom right corner and slightly push it up.
3: Do the same thing on the left as in step 2.
4: Repeat steps 1-3

I personally know several people with this phone and all of us have this "issue". A video of someone NOT having the issue (no matter the carrier) would be great. Also, if it someone on Verizon, that would be a bonus since it could be carrier related.

Thanks!

Additionally: It is REALLY hard to notice on the white because the color of white and silver around the button kind of clash. At first glance with bright lighting, I thought it wasn't doing it. In a darker room, it was easy to notice.

I just think Samsung is flooding the market with new phones too fast when they should be taking care of quality issues. Such a shame now I have to go look at the G2 or the Nexus.

No offense, but if it's that subtle why is it a problem?

For the amount they are asking for this device, a slight issue like this can become very severe. The whole home button may become so loose that it comes off. The dust under the lens compromises quality as well. This is the reason why I didn't jump on the bandwagon right away....

I'm just saying. It's an 800 dollar device and that can be a mortgage for someone. Premature or not, I'd expect nothing but quality. I guess I think this first batch is just to gain consumer knowledge. They'll likely correct the issues that are most discussed. I want this phone but I'm waiting until it's initial release has reached completion. ^_^

Got mine yesterday, a black one on Verizon and I noticed last night mine moves too. More so on the right side. It works fine so I will chalk it up to nothing is perfect and go from there.

Im so over it now that almost everyone has the same issue im just happy with the note 3 its one awesome machine besides the home key issue plus i have jump so in 6 months the galaxy s5 will be out and ill just get that instead heard its gonna be alot better :)

That's what I'm talking' bout!

The only issue that I have on my phone is with the lock screen - it seems that if you have the "password" security option on your phone - initially when the box where you type in your password and the keyboard take a second to adjust and a scroll bar appears.

Also while the keyboard is popping up you can see part of the home screen wallpaper (bottom half) before the keyboard pops up if the home screen and lock screen wallpapers are different.

i have the same problem and i don't know what to do about it. i had a S4 before this and the first one i got was horrible it was always loosing signal and was really slow had it replaced and it was still slow but was better, and didn't have enough memory on for me. so i upgraded and got the note 3 loving it so far but when i got it it had scratch's around the camera but it still works fine takes great pictures. but after only 2 months of us the home button is very lose and moves a lot. it has scratch's on it and sometimes sticks. i don't know about you but after all the problems i have had with samsung i am about ready to switch back to iphone at least they have QC. but i don't know what to do at this point:confused::mad::(
