Help Digital FM / HD Radio

Hi gang, just ordered the Incredible and have been checking out the forum. I already feel right at home here. I do have a question regarding the FM radio capabilities of the phone.

Here in Utah, the local NPR station has gone through the whole HD radio upgrade and apparently with an HD radio I could listen to three different channels while tuned into 90.1.

Can I do that with the Incredible? Are there any apps that would make that possible?

I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything.

Unfortunatly it does not do hd radio..

That would have been freaking cool though.

I have looked online and can only find sirrus apps but no hd internet apps.
 
I don't see hd fm radio coming anytime soon. In fact even in home stereos it normally requires a whole seperate tuner the same size as other components in the system. So i don't see them shrinking something the size of a large dvd player into a smartphone anytime within the next 2-3 years, but hey i've been wrong before. Just don't expect hd radio on portable devices anytime soon.

Just a little fyi.

The new Zune's come with hd radios.

Also hd radio is not a quantum leap in technology, they are trying to cash in on the hdtv crazy, but the comparison is nothing like one another. With hdtv you get several times the resolution on hd radio you get cd quality sound on fm and am stations get fm quality sound. You do get multiple channels on one station but the quality of each channel is not that much better, its just a minor increment imo.
 
I wish we had any hd radio stations around here, they all end about 30 miles from here as far as the local coverage goes. Oh well, eventually i'm sure more around here will upgrade, but i won't hold my breath. The advantages of living in rural midwest usa!
