Help latest google services is worse

Downloaded the 4.4 version of Google services on my s4 and now it seems its gonna make my battery even worse, do I really have to resort to turning location services off completely?! Argh!

I've found how much power GS uses is sporadic. Perhaps it's just using more because of recent updates? I would wait and see what happens before making any changes.

Seems to be behaving after factory reset. Stupidly locked my phone with my password but must've typed it wrong somehow so couldnt get back in to my phone.

I have my "GPS & Verizon location services" on but have had my "Google Wi-Fi & mobile network location" turned off for months now since it was a MAJOR battery drain for me.

My GS usage on Friday was rather high, but on Saturday not. If I'd done a factory reset Friday night I would have concluded it was due to the factory reset that I saw improvement.

Yeah I think the factory reset did solve it, seems to be okay since, so if your having problems after the update factory reset it
