If you order on the phone or online you get an instant rebate. You only get a mail in if you go inside the store. I double checked a couple days ago before I ordered mine. Free activation if you order on the website too (not sure about over the phone on that part though).
Final price wise yes. However, at the store they will only give you a mail in rebate slip whereas online it's pulled off the price before you pay it. The real problem with the rebate is that you don't get a check in the mail. You get a visa credit card with $100 on it.Negative. I called Verizon and the phone reps match any online incentives.

Yeah that would blow. I just dont like how rebates work in general, there should be a law against them, it should be taken off at the register and not require the customer to mail it in. They try to screw you over intentionally and even when they don't they usually take forever and a day to process it. I've been screwed on several dell rebates, to the cost of over $1000 in the past 10 years. Its kind of a sore subject with me.
How much is activation going to set me back at Best Buy??? I really think this might have been the wrong decision!
If its an upgrade there is no activation, if its a new line then there is.
