Help MTP connection to Windows 7

Hook

Ever since DU... ;-)
This is the first time I've gotten a Nexus so early after release. Last night I tried to connect it via USB to my windows 7 computer to transfer some media files. Although Win 7 claimed to have loaded ADB driver, the internal memory doesn't show up as a removable drive like my Nexus 4 did.

Do I need to find different drivers for the N5? Would they be in an update of the SDK or in your mini-package? I suspect all this was more sorted already by the time I got an N4.

Or has the MTP functionality actually changed such that Win Explorer won't see it as a drive anymore?

You can try Universal Naked Driver, but I had no issues with MTP functioning.

Yeah, I don't remember any issues with either my N4 or N7. I'll play around some more tonight-- I didn't actually have much time with it last night and am at work today.

I had to go into device manager find android phone right click choice update driver and then pick browse computer, let me pick from list, pick mpt device.I had the same problem with the nexus 7.

I finally got it, more or less following techrider's suggestion, except I had to keep uninstalling and installing before I finally got offered an MTP driver. I have no idea hw I did it or why it finally worked, but it did. My Nexus 4 and 7 were never this hard. Wonder why? Doesn't matter. Done now.

Thanks!
