Help Bluetooth audio quality degrades when connected to second device for phone audio

I recently upgraded to a Galaxy S4 from Galaxy S3. I have it so when I get in my car I connect to a A2DP Bluetooth receiver for media audio and also my cars Multimedia interface for phone audio. I noticed a massive degrade in sound when both are connected at the same time.

If I disconnect the cars interface for phone audio then the audio quality returns to normal.

my Galaxy S3 did not have this issue. Is there something I can do to have both connected at the same time and not get unbearably crappy quality out of the media audio?

FWIW, I had the same issue with my Galaxy S2 and never really found an answer. I found an old post which suggested that the Bluetooth buffer was too small to handle two devices, and proposed some changes in settings files ... but I wasn't rooted and never got around to trying. I eventually just bought a Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth adapter, which does both A2DP and Handsfree, and that works for me.

I recently upgraded to the GS4, but haven't had a chance to try it with the two separate Bluetooth devices I used before. I was hoping the better hardware/software might be able to handle two BT devices ... but maybe not :(. I'll try to post again if I find out different. My experience is that not all BT devices are created equal, so different devices might work better together. But you're best bet might be an all-in-one device.

Sorry I don't have anything more helpful at the moment.
 
Not the same but this solved my BT issues I was having. I have a BT Car Stereo for streaming media AND I have a BT ear piece for calls. I had a problem with getting both to connect and to connect quickly without fussing with them.

I downloaded the FREE app "Bluetooth Auto Connect" by UniqTec:

It did not work correctly UNTIL I made made certain settings. Maybe this app can help your situation too...that's all I have :)
