Root [Sprint] Samsung galaxy victory (sprint) roms fixes and downloads

I know allot of us out there is looking for a custom rom for the sprint Samsung victory. There is ones for the virgin mobile but not a sprint and everything were looking for whether its a rom, fix, or tools is spread all over the net and old post people read thinking hey that might work, but really its out of date. So i thought if i make a forum for this phone and carrier to help people find things easier, maybe it would take less time to find info or what where looking for. If anyone has anything that can be helpful feel free to post it here and hopefully noobs will find what there looking for easier and smoother.

This does have some issues but thats because its a mg5 (vm) not mc1 (Sprint) and there working on the bugs. ( the forum doesnt have support for sprint so if you want to use it as a temp rom, then you can, it tested well on my sprint phone.)

Two things:

  1. I was/am the "dev" for Conquest. If you managed to download it, don't use it on a Sprint phone.
  2. The Conquest thread is locked with content removed until I find a new home for it. Won't be here.
 
Ok madbat its a zip hhmm and Johnny no this thread is different that one madbat is talking about is for how to root and wat you get here is ok im rooted, how do i get to play with this thing lol.... And moonknightus i actually was trying to find you. I found a mc1 build.prop file and im testing a few things right now.last night when i booted it for the first time it wanted to download the updates for sprint(real inpresive). So im still in playing mode. I still have to flash over a new .tar file... Try the speedball or redhat kernal then install rom and do a mc1 update, etc. If you want that build. Prop let ne know.. I will let u know on my progress lol
 
I am currently running 4 g on a prepay still testing tho lol (had it for 10 min downtown before it switched towers to 3g)
 
Last night when i got the update for samsung it said that i can update the system(which i didnt want it to yet) i wanted to see what would happen if i proceded with it, i got my cwm backup im ready. I went into cwm authorized unknown source to install and it failed. Which is ok. The kernel i am using (teachme) is for vm. Ima switch kernals and do a system wipe and try the new build.prop and if it goes well try a data and a system wipe and reflash speedball and the rom n see what happens.
 
Bleuninja, you know, I'm really charitable and helpful normally, but you REALLY have to start READING other people's posts. Seriously.
 
I do read the posts i take allot of info and mix it. Sry if i wqnted to maje it easier i know there is allot of forums. With this one its like taking all the forums and putting them into one so there not spread out like an eagle thus reducing the time to research what your trying todo, like finding the speedball .2. When i have looked at the submenus of the threads. But i havent looked threw them all there is allot. I am a tester aswell. Sry for trying to help others find something good for this phone for sprint users
 
Ya im using google and the forums here. Ima look again tonight before i go to test the speedball kernel. I had it saved i thought to where its at but i guess not. So far with teachmes kernel thw battery lasted all day.
 
Ya i was in there and found an old version. Ima do the system n data wipe tonight. So hopefully the testing goes well. Im still playing with 10.2cm. Which is being a pain. Ya i uninstalled allot of apps so my backup wont be so big lol.. Hmm
 
Nope didnt work. I tried to flash the kernel. I think what ima have todo is try odin to put the stock kernel in and then do speedball. I am tempted to use 10.2 cm and try to get that rom workin but it wont be easy. Hmmm.. Wish there was a custom rom for sprint victory :(
