With the news of the Incredible and the EVO I kind of figure the N1 wouldn't get released to VZW or Sprint.. I meant what would be the point? There is no WAY I would get the N1 over my EVO 4G!!!!!! :D

I never seen anything 10gigs either. I mean first for everything. But If it has a mid range number of gigs I'm down with that. Not that I have a lot stored on my phone itself anyways. But with this phone you can do so much so who knows. I will definitely by a 32gig for it. I think I might just be carrying around a few movies .

One thing I hope is I hope they try and get DivX on the EVO . I remember they were mouthing about that for the Desire a while back but went silent now. Hmm .

Makes sense but Sprint has a better chance to get it still. Evo and N1 are in two different classes when it comes down to specs. The Incredible is no different then the N1 just sense and a bigger cam . So it makes sense for Verizon not to get it. So if they want a stock android then they will go with a droid instead. I mean that has the 2.1 update already so ....

And people like us will love a Evo but some people just might want the N1 still and not the Evo. I think the screen itself scares some people away while the 3.7' is just right for the liking of most people. 4.3 is still new until every carrier gets in that 4' range. The N1 would give a selection of two different high end Android phones for Sprint. So I wouldnt cancel them out yet until Sprint says so. Yea Verizon is CDMA like Sprint but they don't mimic each other on everything.

Would be Smart for Sprint to open the variety up and Google to push there only device as of now to other carriers.
 
Quick notes, since I'm tethered on the bus:

-The phone will not have 10GB of storage, either internal or combined internal + card. 10 is not of the form 2^n, so it's just not going to happen. Offering a 2GB card would be insulting, and is not likely to happen. Hopefully, we'll wind up with at least 8GB. It would be nice if it were like the Galaxy, and had 16GB, though...

-The connection is micro HDMI, not mini HDMI.

-drex: Thanks a lot for the screenshot. Hopefully, that's supposed to be ambiguous in the sense of, "Yeah, you should see it some time in the next 60 days, hint hint nudge nudge," rather than, "We hope we can get it out in the next 60 days... or something like that. If things go well." I'm leaning towards and hoping for the former, of course.

Android 17: I pretty much agree with everything you've said--there are just no compelling reasons of which I can think that would lead one to want a BlackBerry. Not anymore.

Not quite sure why you expect that, considering the fact that it's extra work on their end, as well as not playing into the mutually beneficial free user-to-user calling.

-Why did someone mention AIM? On an Android device, should we not be using Google Talk, especially since the app comes preinstalled and the desktop/web app already has integrated video?

Perhaps it's 2GB internal, and then an 8GB card - but I refuse to believe that there will be 10GB of "internal" storage.

No problem. It says "should be released within 60 days", so I think the dates Jackson got are the most "realistic" of all the talked about release dates.

Nontheless, I don't think EVP has a full grasp of the spec sheet on the EVO yet. Since they're basically a 3rd party company that deals with corporate sales/discounts, I don't trust all of their information when it comes to the specs of the phone. Just the fact that they're referring to the 1GB of ROM as "internal storage," tells me that they neither have been given the final specs nor been told how to explain the specs.

I do not have a single friend who uses Google Talk to be honest.

With the Incredible having both internal and microSD slot, I just can't realistically see there not being both for the EVO and at least matching the Incredible's internal storage.

Really? The Verizon website says that a microSD card is not included. Did they change it?

Not saying your wrong but all your stuff sound more like opinions then fact and i do agree with you on the 10gig thing though. i never heard of that. and AIM and Yahoo etc has been known and used more then google talk. You will be surprised to how many people don't use google talk . The benefit of a lot of this stuff is to take advantage of the evo in every possible way. we can only use aim and yahoo for IM and think about the next step up actually using all of the IM's functions the same way you would use it on a laptop and have video call etc. your opening the chances up. yea google talk can do that but you cant assume or force people to only use that. google itself already get their chip in from having this OS and having google on the phone so why not open up the options? It's an app for just about anything so I wouldn't be surprised seeing this all done. the point is variety not everyone is using google talk. i mean motorola already dropped google for locations purpose. they are looking to use skyhook. my point is yea android comes with it's own location app but do we have to rely on it? before google came with a phone you could look up anything and get directions so yea it makes sense for a google phone to have it but not only that. variety is smart.

can anyone help me? now, i know this is strictly for the htc evo, but i have a samsung moment and was wondering if i could upgrade the android to the 2.1 thats out there right now? Help please!

There will be no cap for 4G, its unlimited. There will also be browsing and calling at the same time. This however is only when your on a 4G connection. They have looked into being able to do this with wifi but i have not been updated on how that testing is going.

I have been lurking and this has been one hell of an entertaining thread. I have years of pda experience, I am also a vip member over at ppcgeeks so I know windows mobile quite a bit but the evo will be my first android phone and I honestly can't wait.

Supersonical, thanks for all your information and I hope everything works out the way you have foretold. As far as browsing using wifi and making phone calls at the same time, thats a feature thats been available for years so I don't see why it would be any different with the evo.

I doubt. That's almost like a new phone compared to the original N1 if that happens. It would be so cool but na. Cause you would have to get the phone to work with a new type of network. I think a phone has to be built from the ground up to be working on 4G. I don't see a phone out already just hoping on a 4G signal.

Sprint's N1 could have something a little different though but as far as being a 4G device naa i highly doubt. We will have to see .

Its definitely MICRO - that video is incorrect. The plug is smaller than the mini-USB if you look at pictures of the phone, whereas micro-HDMI is larger than the plug on the evo.
 
Sorry, I know it's been posted before but will sprint let you upgrade early if you are close to your upgrade date?

My early upgrade is available on July 1st. Will sprint let me upgrade early if the phone is released middle of June?

That is a micro HDMI (type D), NOT MINI (type C). Go Google Micro vs Mini HDMI, or you check Amazon for Mini HDMI cables, you can see there's no way they'd fit the Evo. The guy speaking in the video either misspoke, or was misinformed.

EDIT: Looks like I was beat to the punch again, ahh well.
