Mine as well be "teeny tiny hdmi" at this point - Sprint will still be the only place to get the cable its looking like.

Are you going by what you see in size or you read it somewhere ? I don't want to argue but I jus't don't see him being wrong. I seen that guy in a lot of videos back to the touch pro. They even say it's bigger then that on the tv so of course the end of the plug that goes into the phone is smaller. Not saying I'm right 100% but hat's what the guy says. Have you seen any HDMI output slots smaller then the one on the evo on any other device besides phones ? and any article you google for the size of the hdmi it says mini

and at the end it doesn't matter right lols but I just want to know cause some things in this thread go back and forth and are just silly.
 
No problem. It says "should be released within 60 days", so I think the dates Jackson got are the most "realistic" of all the talked about release dates.

Nontheless, I don't think EVP has a full grasp of the spec sheet on the EVO yet. Since they're basically a 3rd party company that deals with corporate sales/discounts, I don't trust all of their information when it comes to the specs of the phone. Just the fact that they're referring to the 1GB of ROM as "internal storage," tells me that they neither have been given the final specs nor been told how to explain the specs.

A good observation. Specs aren't really what these people are concerned with, so we should take them with a grain of salt. Release dates, however... *giggles*

I suppose. All of my friends use Google Talk; tbh, I have little reason to chat with someone who still uses an AOL service :P.

UniqueNate: No offense, but trying to read your posts hurts my eyes. Your posts are full of run-on sentences and lack any coherent spacing or organization. In any case, I hadn't seen that video, I don't think. However, it is indeed a micro port. The fact that one presenter said mini (which, in addition to being an official spec name, is a general adjective) does not make it so. Hopefully, these pictures will clear things up:

You can see that the port on the Evo, by necessity, is micro HDMI. The mini HDMI is far larger, and all of the scales match up properly.

Micro, ftw -- Not trying to argue either, just want to make clear for everyone. THAT connector is what will hook up to our Evos.

Saying it's smaller than the TV still leaves mini and micro both open. That is micro.

Yes, I have seen that on other devices besides phones. Some of the new HD camcorders have that connection and come with the cable. It is not called micro HDMI in the ones I have seen. There was a brand specific name for it.

nobody uses google talk........yet.

with android becoming more prevalent, 4G networks being introduced, and carriers raping customers over voice/data plans, what better time to start using this or other VoIP software?

it just may change the way carriers charge rates and how people communicate.

I know that information is in this thread, but it's been awhile so I'll go on memory. I believe SprintTerp said you'd have to wait until after the 18th of the previous month. That means you would be eligible after June 18th and I believe that's a hard and fast rule.

Yeah, Dan said he sees in the future plans being charged on a gigabyte model instead of a minutes model. Which would be interesting, makes me question if they will want to do 'unlimited' on 4G or how they plan on changing their rates in the future.


EDIT: Bill, do you mind editing the first page to state Micro HDMI? While I am sure people will still keep asking, it would be a good thing to have there.

A lot of people really like Google Voice. For those with Verizon that have to pay for texting, you can get if free through GV. You can also set it to ring different numbers simultaneously and it will convert voice mail to editable text and put it in your GV inbox, which is a part of Gmail. When you use GV, you can talk as much as you want to any mobile or land line and not use any of your minutes, so there are a lot of benefits.

Edit: My mind is somewhere else, I guess. I'm talking GV and everyone else is talking about GT for chat.
 
It will def not come with only 2gb internal. that i know. Like i have been saying it will be equal or more than the incredible in every way. I only said i have heard the number 10 thrown around. It could be the total amount with a 2gb micro sd card added. IDK. But internal mem will be aorund 8 that i know
 
As far as I know, I have every right to agree with him. And as he said, no offense, but it is hard to read your posts.

the more memory the better but i don't even come close to using 128MB Internal on my Palm Centro. 1MB for Contacts and Calendar and a few more MB for a few Apps and that's it. all my Documents and files sit out on the Cloud for me to get via FTP from any device anywhere in the world. i stream my music. so i keep very little on my LOCAL device.

I don't think this has to be a spelling contest. I like to take my time and make sure my grammar, sentence structure and spelling are as good as I can get it, but that's just me. I would never criticize someone else if every i wasn't dotted or every t crossed. Not in an environment like this where you're forced to type as fast as you can. Some people posting are using their phones and your typing isn't going to be as good.
