Accessories The Truth About The Incredible Battery

I'm assuming because that is a launch kit, which is directed at employees, that its shown together.

I am aware of those. That appears to be a standard replacement cover for the standard battery and then the extended battery with just a picture of the battery. In the past all extended batteries that required a new battery cover have come with said cover. I see no reason for that to be different now.

And to add here is the full section of the batteries. See it clearly showing the standard back separate on it's own and then the extended battery and back together.

Also note the standard battery door matches the part number of the door in the screen captures.

I agree, I'm not sold on seidio - especially after reading about the drain tests.

How do you guys feel about getting an OEM 1500mah eris battery?

I'm pretty sure the Eris OEM battery is 1300mah, just like the Incredible's.

Hmm interesting. From what I got looking at the screenshots of the inventory guide and from the official thread, people were speculating its separate. I guess we'll have to see on thursday. Either way, I don't see a difference in pricing for us. If its combined, they'll just jack up the price to include that cover. So in technicality, you'll still be paying for it.

From what I'm hearing that $59.99 is for the extended battery and cover. So in that sense that price is the jacked up price for both already.

i believe it will be 1mm thicker. Looking at the pictures of the incredible and the launch guide the incredible has a flush black with the camera but with the extended battery it seems the battery part is raised up 1mm.

Interesting. Might be an option if it is in fact made by HTC and is 100% compatible with the Incredible.

Agreed. If we get a group consensus/confirmation I'll definitely be buying it as my primary battery. Here is the battery product # if anyone is interest

Although, I'm pretty intrigued by the extended 2150mAh for the DI as well. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I'm headed toward the 2150mah batter myself. I think if it increases the thickness as little as believed then most covers and accessories should work with it.

I think I'll run through standard battery for about 10 charge cycles to see how long it lasts (your mileage may vary), then jump on 2150 mAh extended battery if standard battery doesn't last long enough for my liking. IF the standard battery dies on me before 1 full day (24 hours), then I'd curse under breath and go for the extended one. :(

This is my plan as well.

You'll probably be cursing, unfortunately. It sounds like, with moderate use, itll get just shy of 20 hours. I'm a heavy user, so i'll definitely need the extended.

I would like the extended battery (VZW or Seidio) but I want it to still fit in the Seidio Innocase/Holster combo. I will have to wait and see if my plan works.

The Eris battery is 1300mah but the TouchPro2 is 1500mah and works perfectly in the Eris so it will also work in the Incredible. I have a TP2 battery and I notice i get anywhere between 10-25% more battery left at the end of the day then with the stock Eris Battery.

But from the look of the 2150 I believe I will be getting that .As the Eris with the 1500battery still isn't very good on battery life and the Incredible will certainly be worse with it's faster processor , bigger screen and more badassness haha

Thx droid for confirming I never doubted you :D

That link to the battery tests is revealing indeed....but I go by my own real world experience with Seido's ext batt's....the ones I have purchased (for my Eris and 2 past phones) are worth every penny ;)

Is the stock battery really that bad?? I have a bold 9700 now an this battery is a freak of nature...I know the incredible batt will never last as long as this one does but I hope it atleast makes it thru the day with text, browsing an some pandora

what about getting a oem 1500 mah battery from ebay for $ 15 from a TP2 and buying a battery wall charger? pop one in when the other dies and you wont sacrifice the phones shape...just my$.02

The battery and the backing for it are sold individually from VZW. For all of you who are in love with this guys battery busting claims... how do you know that his results are even sufficient? He takes 1 battery and tests it till it dies. He doesn't test 100 batteries. His results are horridly skewed and can't be trusted what so ever. Haven't you ever done an experiment? There are so many variables. If his information is so correct how come there aren't more negative claims out there with substantial proof?

I'm no rep for seidio and I don't give a shit about seidio or any other battery maker. I know from personal experience that they are good quality and perform as they say. Most batteries all are made from the same damn material anyways so it really doesn't matter.

I rest my case.
