my battery really sucks

I got this phone yesterday, and out of the box, it had 80 percent. I used it and thebattery ran out quite quickly, about4 hours. Thinking it was because it wasnt fully charged, icharged it when it was at 2 percent. After a full 100 percent, i used it ligjtly, reading forums, 2,3 texts and some clash of clan, which is not a demanding game. I ran out of juice completley after 5 hours. Thinking it weird, i charged it yet again to 100 percent without using it, and i used it again, and found that within 30 minutes, i had used 10 percent of the battery. Adter posting on seceral othet forums, im sure that the battery is defective. Any opoinions?

Its possible that you have a defective battery but I would suggest looking at the battery usage stats first and see if we can figure out what is using up the battery.

Give it a few charge/discharge cycles before passing judgment.

Also check what things you have syncing and see if you can do without some of those things (Google books/magazines, email, ect)

Your battery is probably defective with moderate usage you should easily be getting all day battery life.

Something wrong with it. When it was new i used it for a very long time before charging it.

Right now I've been on battery for 9hours and I'm at 62%. Been using it pretty heavy. Been sitting here for 2 hours straight on the internet.

Hmm it definitely sounds like a defective battery, I also had 80% out of the box but mine didn't drain for quite a while.

I'm really pleased with the battery performance on my G2. I was a bit skeptical about the advertised talk time. But my experience after the first two weeks is better than advertised:

I've been getting two full days with moderately heavy usage, and three with moderate usage.

I'm sorry dude but the screen shot you are showing there is NOT moderate to heavy usage. You barely use the phone.

While I'm not doing heavy gaming or video watching, the phone is being used constantly while I'm awake....that screenshot was taken just after I got up.

OP, give it 3-4 days and if it doesn't improve mmajorly, I'd return it for another. That pattern of drain is not normal for this phone.

Streamed music for 4 hours on wifi at work and lost 14%. This battery is a beast. Either you haven't given it enough time or it's defective. Hopefully you're still within a return period, but I recommend giving it some time.
I've been nothing but astounded with the battery life on this phone. Only one I've seen better is the Note 3.

My phone has been off charge for 14 hours, sitting at 57% with moderate use today. This phone by far had been the best phone for battery. If your drain continues, i would say something is wrong...

got the g2 on verizon for wife during that amazon.com mistake sale. she never met a phone that would last a day until this one. second day she had 4 hour talk and 2hour screen time lasting a total of 14 hours before we charged it at 30%. today she hitting 4hr screen time 2hr talk total of 15 hr at 25%..

woth the $200 off contract i paid to keep unlimited data. wish i got 2.

Hey, I had the same issue, I even saw an issue with charging it overnight and it only getting to 80% full. I did a hard reset on the phone and it works fine now. Try that.
