Alright, I got my phone today and figured some people may want to see the phone in the gradient case from VZW.

The color is closer to the w/o Flash image, but more luminous. It's plastic, but has a feel similar to the back of the phone. Looks pretty attractive, IMHO.

Awesome, thanks for this! Hearing some first-hand information about this case is great. I remember seeing another user post pics of it from online sources last week and have been waiting for someone with it to post! Also glad to hear about how it feels also. One question: Does it add a lot of thickness to the phone? Not that it matters too much, I still plan on getting it. In fact, as soon as I saw this post I called my local "Authorized Dealer" and the rep said they can't sell anything until Thursday. I would have gone to pick the case up now had he said yes. Thanks again!

I would love to get this if it worked in a holster. I wish they had it like that because that case is bad azz...
 
The bottom around the edges of the case looks like an off, maybe lighter color. Is that just the picture?

I'd rather not have a case - but say you are going to the basketball court (outside) and you have to set your phone down.

Do I wanna be the guy (p*ssy) who has to carefully wrap it in a t shirt before I set it down anywhere? Hell no I dont wanna be that guy.
 
I have to say, when I first saw the pictures of that case I really wasn't feeling it. The others pics made it look too bright, but those make it look pretty damn nice.
 
How hard is it to get the case apart? I'm probably gonna get a holster (something with more protection) when I"m at the firehouse, but when I"m home I'd like to use this case and just throw the phone in my pocket when I go out. Would have to be able to get the case on and off so needed to know if it comes apart easy.

It took a little working - they have a notch at the bottom for you to put a coin and torque it slightly. Once you get a little separation and the bottom, you can remove the top part. I had to struggle with it a bit, but I'd guess this improves with practice.
