Question about Cyanogenmod and BOYD

Ok so I have an unlocked AT&T S3 that I want to bring over to Metro. I also have it running CM 10.2 I believe. My question is if I get the sim card for it will my data be messed with if it is running CM or will I still get my 4G data? Or should I just go back to the regular touchwiz before I activate it? Sorry I meant BYOD instead of BOYD.

If the Cyanogen ROM you flashed supports 4G, and the phone supports the 4G bands that Metro uses, you'll get 4G. Both of those conditions have to be met.

as long as they phone is unlocked and t-mobile's 4g is supported, it will work.

Well I don't know if Cyanogenmod supports 4G. I tried to look and watch videos on it but can't find out.

theres no reason it shouldn't, worst case scenario, back everything up before you do it, but I really doubt that has anything to do with it

cm supports all teh bands needed no problem, its a matter of APN's and device hardware. however the att sgs3 doesnt support tmobiles lte or its hspa+ network. if you are in a modernized market youll get hspa+ thanks to 1900mhz, everything else i can find says youll have edge only (equivalent to 1xrtt on cdma) if you arent.

Network Modernization | T-Mobile Support

so if your city isnt on that list you arent even going to get 3g, you might be better looking into straighttalk which runs on att's network as well and is only 45 a month for unlimited everything.

The AT&T S3 does support Tmobile's LTE bands

ah, i was finding people posting about issues with getting it to work, i imagine this was due to tmobile not having an lte network and 1900mhz. so in a modern market with tmobile lte an att s3 should work flawlessly then :)

Well I'm in Columbus, GA and on T mobiles coverage map it has great coverage according to the map.So I guess that doesn't have anything to do with metros sim card? What data would I get in this city?

Checking with metros map it says you have HSPA+ most likely AWS since it's the same equipment used for LTE that does 1900MHz. Shouldn't be too long before you get LTE though since it shows Auburn has LTE. A
*Also sensorly is showing LTE at the edge of town

I see this is old now, however let me say this.

The Samsung ATT S3 has the hardware to support both att and t mobile hspa and lte.
but the hspa bands are locked out in the att modem. however because att uses AWS LTE in a couple of markets all the att phones support it.

There is a working solution to getting t mobile hspa on att s3 but unfortunately you either go with an old modem, or you have to reset the nv settings every reboot.

why cant they just flash over a file like the note 2? Is it a different process?
