I have had so many calls dropped due to no audio and microphone (both dropped out in the middle of countless calls)... So being able to go back to 1.5 would help me love my phone again...
I miss having a full functioning "phone"
Please keep us posted if this is real or not
I can't believe so many of you have had these problems with the 2.1 leaks. Sux for you to have to deal with those problems. I have never had any issues with dropped calls, audio, mic. In fact, my Eris and my wife's Eris (both on 2.1 v2) are running fatser, smoother and more reliably than they ever did on 1.5. The only bug I can think of that I have is the inability to view embedded gmail images. I have close to 50 installed apps on my phone and it runs as fast as 1.5 did right out of the box.
Regardless, the only reason I would even consider a rollback to 1.5 would be to gain access to Root.
Success stories like that are interesting to see in here. I'm hoping that so many with problems are being assisted in the bugs and fixes thread.
It appears to me that some who did the leak install were doing it to get away from perceived issues that may have been resolvable in 1.5. Some device users don't take enough time to bring things to resolution.
Along similar lines, I get the impression that many with issues in the 2.1 leaks do not really have to attempt a roll-back so much as give that bugs and fixes thread a real good, long study; I would not doubt if many of the problems causing leakers to want to jump ship have been addressed and resolved.
Get off his back. If you want it, don't complain. The OP as well as his cousin are very busy as he previously stated. Patience is a virtue, my friends!

I fail to understand this behavior. This guy could very well posses what EVERYONE has been looking for for so many months. I know that we have been burned and toyed with here in respect to this but we have inadvertently solicited it to a degree by constantly pining over the update/roll back.
Now someone says that he may have figured it out and offers to let us in on it when they are sure it works and have the process nailed down and folks are calling him a liar, demanding proof, getting angry etc........
Does it make sense to preemptively exclude ourselves from the info in the event that it is out there by deriding an individual that has done nothing more than offer to contribute?
If nothing else, logic would dictate that the prudent action would be to quietly observe and wait for the outcome. For all of you who's argument would be that he has provided no proof (ignoring the fact that anything short of seeing it in real life is not proof), where is the proof that he is providing false information ? There is none.
So let's wait, speculate and waste our employers time but for the love of God, lay off the guy.
And if we can't do that, I'll have the thread closed.
Which is the sensible thing for the OP to do. All we're doin' here is lookin' out for the better of our members, not trying to test software before everyone else just because we have some form of authority. Many of you have failed to see this. These threads, often started by people with good intentions, for certain, do quickly become angst-fests, don't they.
Immaturity has quite a few expressions, one of them being impatience with perfectly well-meaning forum members and/or moderators.
I was kind of hoping for this thread to be closed before any of this started happening again, especially since the OP has agreed to provide you with the software for testing before posting a link to it.
If OP fails, we may still have hope. Paul OBrein seems to have some luck making Android bend over. Paul O'Brien (PaulOBrien) on Twitter
Don't know about liar, but pics were promissed to be posted by yesterday. Not calling anyone a liar but it seems weve been left hangin
He sent a tweet out earlier saying "Anyone here using a Droid Eris and stuck on 2.1? I can probably help you." about 6 hours ago via Tweetie
Maybe someone contact him?
Bigbohizzle....i had the same issues as you having to restart (reboot) my phone after receiving or making a call...now i just clear the call history and i have no issue anymore...i know its not a fix but just a way around it !!!!
That's all great. I'm not picky at all, so whoever ends up getting a method working for the eris will be thanked heavily. He is pretty busy I am sure....
Paul is releasing HTC Desire Root today....he got superuser app working....
So give it sometime, and after he has made that public it will trickle downhill...
I cant wait for it because I have an incredible coming today and am gonna see if I can get root from his method as well...
And I am pretty sure that jcase and others will be messing with it to....
I would be willing to bet that jcase will get 2.1 leak downgrade done....
We should all be a little patient![]()
