Root [TOOL] AIO ROOT, UNROOT, and RECOVERY INSTALLER (GUI EDITION)

cwm version is irrelevant, updater binary is the issue, and that is in the zip itself

well that was my problem for sure, but may or may not be his lol

edit: if that is his problem it is not the only one. He formatted system from cwm and tried flashing after and it still did not work.

wouldnt matter if the zip is formatting improperly afterwards...

you can wipe system manually all day and it still not work just because the method the zip is using is corrupting it after the fact

so like i said, cwm, not the issue

true if he is formatting the wrong partition or something, but my problem was that it wasn't formatting at all because somehow i got the wrong binary. The first b11 i made worked fine if you manually formatted /system. Neither here nor there... I still don't know what is going on with his rom lol. There could be so many things wrong that could cause it to not boot properly.

edit: i am guessing file permissions may be the culprit

maybe or maybe the way it is being told to format causes different results based on the binary, on binary when using that command does it right, the other corrupts the system partition

How would I fix that?

if you are using one of the roms currently listed on my op as a base and did not mess with the META-INF directory, that is not your issue. If you are not using one of my roms as a base, perhaps you should lol

fixing it is one thing, that depends on the binary youre using, but testing whether that is your problem might be simple, remove the part of the updater script that formats system, then manually wipe system before install, if it works then that was your issue

I took the full stock b09 odexed ROM and deodexed it -zipped it up. That B09 deodexed is my base because I was trying to keep voicemail and voice command intact /functional

voicemail works great on the deodexed b11

That deodexed b11... Which version is that (b,c,d,e, or f?) and does it still have everything (all bloatware)?

b11 yes, but none of the above. check my op and grab the new one...it will likely solve your problem. There is a zip file at the bottom with all the bloatware deodexed.

edit: i have already done all the work for you, you just need to read lol

anybody wanna do me a huge favor and test this on an unrooted 4.1.2? kuz i still dont have 4.1.2 and if this works we dont have to deal with fastboot issues anymore

just make 100% sure you have a good backup handy just in case lol

I ran the script they provided for porting this root tool to our device but unfortunately we did not get the addresses. The script worked and created the files but said the addresses were not found :(

well, thanks for tryin man, its not like we dont have a root method so itll be fine. and ive been working on my java edition some more, made the terminal output for rooting and unrooting live, put in a timeout value, gonna make timeout values for recovery installation as well, and then make a way to configure things like the timeouts through the plugin file. that should all be done by this evening. i plan on adding the plugins to my updater too, but that may not happen tonight

hi i am trying to root my sequent. i tried doomlords script and your aio tool and neither worked. its running the most updated version of jb (b11) i think. tried to force cwm and nothing. can u help me? your tool said i should have cwm installed and root but nothing

Hello all i have a zte warp sequent running jb 4.1.2 im being offered an ota update but cannot install it i am rooted and im guessing that cwm recovery has been installed incorrectly because when i try to get into ftm mode i see the green droid then the screen fades to a greyish color and does nothing else and for some reason i cant seem to get the correct drivers for my comp i have a macbook pro with mac os x 10.8.1 dual booted with win 7 ult ed i have a 64 bit system now ive tried on both win and mac junkies aio tool and it doesnt work at all for me on win it says to check my drivers on mac when running through the command line it states that
"users/myname/desktop/phone fix/mac.command" doesnt exist and then asks for my pw for the comp after entering it terminal trys running a few more lines but it states that "users/myname/desktop/phone fix/files/adb-mac" doesnt exist im trying to unroot and return 100%to oob condition my phone then set it back up any help would be appreciated i am semi computer literate i have the strata cert in comp tech if it helps anything but i am not very good with cmmd prompt thanks in advance for any help i can recieve on this issue and i dont care witch os i fix my phone on just as long as i can fix it and if you need more info please dont hesitate to ask

thanks all

cwm os probably fine, ftm gets removed by installing cwm

as far as the whole tool not working on mac thing goes, try putting it in a folder that doesnt use spaces, that may help, and checking the directory you extracted all the files to might also be helpful

as far as the windows tool saying to check your drivers, well check your drivers i dunno what else to tell you. either usb debugging isnt on or you need to install the proper drivers for the phone... or its not plugged in but i assume you got it plugged in lol

I can recommend Scary Aliens, Android Root Tookit v2.6

Free download, (when it hauls your butt out of the fire, it's nice to donate) from the Play Store.

I put this on my Warp 2,to check all it's features, being assured of what it could do then I tethered my Nexus7, downloaded the app on my Nexus7.
The Nexus Tablet had root, but lost recovery, couldn't do a thing about it either, since Windows Wont play nice and just recognize the tablet with it's own drive letter.
No easy solution, UNTIL, I grabbed this Root Toolkit, 2 minutes later all is as it should be.

Try it.
